CrazyKay07
My family decided to take a trip up to Cedar Point yesterday. I was so excited! I knew the lines would not be the 2 hours they are over the summer so I was excited to ride everything I had never ridden before! Mom and Dad rode rides with my nephew Jackson most of the day. He is 3 and we know he is going to be a daredevil when he can ride. My sister and I started with a 15 minute wait for Millenium Force. I had never rode MF and I was nervous about the hill but I loved it! Jackson wanted to ride it, but he came to realize he was too small. We then rode the train to the back of the park so we could ride Maverick. It was about a 45 minute and our longest wait of the day. I didn't think Maverick would be so intense, and we were definitely shocked at how intense it was. That drop was amazing and all the turns were great. I wondered why they made me take my glasses off, I see why now haha! It started to rain a litte but a few rides were still running, including Top Thrill Dragster. We were watching, and it didn't clear the hill so it went straight back down. We had planned not to get on it after that. Gemini closed while we were line also. After the rain, we rode Magnum. I love that ride. The airtime is amazing, and my picture made me look like a lunatic. You could tell I was trying to get the full of effect of the air haha. We then made our way up to the front of the park, passing TTD again. We rode Wicked Twister, Disaster Transport (i don't know why) and Raptor. Jackson rode every ride up there in Planet Snoopy, and by that time we decided let's ride TTD. We don't go to CP often, so we knew this may be our only chance. The line for TTD was only 15mins!! I wa scared, but I knew it would be fun. My sister was more afraid than I was. I kept reminding her of the fact that we waited only 10-15 mins. You can't beat that! Needless to say, we both loved it!! I don't really remember anything before the launch though. It is all a blur. But it was so fun! Although our time was short at the park, we are still happy we got to ride a lot of the main rides the park has to offer and not wait 1-2 hours for them. The last day is the best time to go...despite the cold air! Keshia
The Interpreter
Great report. Rest assured the low temperatures were what made for the relatively short lines and low crowds. I've been to many Cedar Point closing days, and yesterday's was among the lightest attended ones, ever. Sometimes, the entire park is packed on closing day. One time, about five years ago, they ran out of food in the entire park! Yesterday was a day of many contrasts...Top Thrill opened about 11:30...and you can catch many, many bugs if you ride it in the front seat..even in November...so many, I had to go clean my glasses after the ride! I should also note that in Cedar Point's history, last weekend was the very first time it had been open in November, or so ride op after ride op claimed in their spiels. Candy was two bars for 99 cents! 99 cents is the normal price for a single bar up there, and the machines (that are $2 at Kings Island) were only $1.25. They had Chuck Wagon pizza at Patio Pizza, too...and someone ate waaaay too much of it! Disaster Transport was even running well...but Mean Streak was rougher than Son of Beast, even in the front seat. It is indeed time for GCII to do its magic...and I, for one, can hardly wait. The Mean Streak lead ride op was making many, many anti-Palin jokes...so many that many guests were complaining about his bias...things like--"From Mean Streak you can see Canada and Russia, so we know about foreign affairs here at Cedar Fair." It was NOT going over well, and I doubt Mr. Kinzel would be amused.
Keysersoze
Wow, it did sound like a good day. One of the reasons I avoid Cedar Point most of the year is the crowds. The Sunday afternoon crowds at Kings Island have spoiled me, and I demand walk on's! Anyway, Gald you enjoyed Millenium Force, that has to be my favorite steel coaster. The first drop from the front seat is well worth the extra wait, truely unbelievible. I got a chance to ride Behemoth up at Canada's Wonderland this summer and it kinda started to take that spot. Diamondback, Behemoth's sister, promisies the same punch if not more I think. I just have a feeling there are going to be a lot of happy folks next year at Kings Island.
