gigacoaster2k Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I'm also terrified of the Sky Ride but I'll ride it because I'm lazy. I'm the same way. I don't like the thought of dangling that high up from a bucket on a string.. it just doesn't seem very stable. Quote
violakat03 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 .... I have never ridden Xtreme Skyflyer. Ever. I don't want to go by myself, and my mom wouldn't let me go when I was younger. Once I got older and started going to the park by myself, I either didn't have the money or couldn't find someone to go with me. I've had several people promise to go with me and all have either backed out or never gone to the park with me. Same thing with Slingshot, but Skyflyer annoys me more because it's been there for so long and I've never been on it. I started going to the park by myself at 16 so that's 7 years that it's been taunting me. Hopefully this year will be the year, as I finally have a friend that plans to go to the park with me multiple times this summer, including opening day, and has promised to ride both with me. Quote
DeLorean Rider Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 It took 4 people to hold me up just so they could unhook me from the harnest... Which 4 people? The people hooked up with you? The previous flyers? Quote
JAHill Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Eiffel Tower. It's structure is both too high and too uneasy-feeling for me to conquer again. I feel very dizzy while on the platform. I once fell on the floor as the elevator doors opened. This is the same reason I will not take a ride on Drop Tower, Skyflyer, or SlingShot. Ever. Heights aren't my thing. Quote
SonofBeast07 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 The ride formerly known as Tomb Raider. I know it's a safe ride, but based on its history i'm always really uneasy when i ride it. Quote
SonofBeast07 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 just how much it's broken down with people on it Quote
JAHill Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 -edited because well... LilSammy's post is gone- Quote

74Gibson Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Lilsammy's dropping everywhere. Thanks to whichever mod cleaned this thread up. Seriously THANK YOU! Quote
kiruler102 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 The scariest ride i am ridden at Kings Island is the Grand Carousel!!!!! Seriously!!! it goes so slow it drives me crazy!!!! Quote
JAHill Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 The scariest ride i am ridden at Kings Island is the Grand Carousel!!!!! Seriously!!! it goes so slow it drives me crazy!!!! Isn't that kind of the joy of it? Carousels, in my opinion, are slow because they are classic rides that just make you feel good, and dare I say, nostalgic. Especially because it's from KI, and is the oldest ride in the park. Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Not all carousels are slow. Some are amazingly fast. The one that used to be at Dollywood, which was removed recently, was a Denzel, and revolved about at around three times the speed of the one at Kings Island. Small children gripped the horsies, many in fear! The one in Elmira, New York goes nearly 18 miles an hour! http://www.cityofelmira.net/dps/park_eldridgecarousel.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2auDNkR1g7s (embedding disabled) (Thanks, Ty!) On this last one, the carousel can be seen in operation (and fast!) around 8:10 in.... Quote
Guest TombraiderTy Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 ^Terpy, the first video is able to be embedded. Just so you know Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I think you mean it was disabled...I fixed it now, and thanks! Quote
flightoffear4thtrain Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 post # 497 Almost there It doesn't really count if you make posts like that. Quote
jessie8 Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 mine would prob. be Drop Tower or Xtreme Skyflyer but i would ride them again =D Quote
Dvo Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Definitely Flight Commander. Hanging upside-down in an open-air vessel is terrifying... and fun at the same time? Quote
Coaster Kid Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 The crypt i hated it but i got over my fear off it. I guess it was the fear of being upside down adn being shot at with water. Quote
italianchef Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Drop Tower - though it was known as Drop Zone at the time - was the scariest ride that I ever rode at KI. It was so scary for me that I rode it once - and never, ever again. Quote
74Gibson Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Little Bills Giggle Coaster I finally got a bite. Quote
Rollercoaster Nut Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 The scariest ride I ever rode would have to be drop Zone cause when I rode it I was just 11 and was scared of heights. Also cause I had to ride it alone except for this fat lady next to me. Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Little Bills Giggle Coaster I finally got a bite. Well, the High Speed Thrill Coaster at Knoebel's Grove Amusement Resort truly WAS an incredibly forceful and air filled extravaganza! Quote
sgshredder33 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I don't know if this counts but I don't get scared on rides. I would have to say Tombsone Terror-Tory because as I have already said I will ride anything. O I forgot Exteme Flyer can be scary if you are the one that has to pull the string. Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Some think it is scarier if you are not the one pulling the string...for the same reason that some people find it intimidating not knowing when Flight of Fear is going to launch...regulars, of course, do know. Quote

Yeah, same thing with when Drop Zo... er Tower is going to drop Quote
RailRider Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I would say that ridding Superman Ultimate Escape at SFWoA opening year was the most unsetling ride I ever had. When the brakes hold on the back spike it is intense. I enjoy that ride more than WT at CP Quote
