...The grant would have paid for the relocation of Mt. Vernon Road to allow the amusement park to expand. It also would have paid for the extension of a sewer line to the northwest section of town. The new line would service Briarwood College, according to the original grant request.

Brick said Thursday that it's in the best interest of Southington and Connecticut as a whole for the park to expand because more tourist dollars will be spend and the the facility's tax payments will grow.
