BoddaH1994
There will be a new and innovative place for extreme thrills this summer in the Cincinnati area! I have just been informed by Bill Mefford that members of the KICentral Community have been invited to see the Wake Nation construction for themselves! Join our friends in the American Coaster Enthusiasts as we see what will certainly be the most exciting new activities to hit the water in the Cincinnati area! What: Behind the scenes and construction tour of Wake Nation.Where: Wake Nation 201 Joe Nuxhall Way Fairfield, OH 45014When: April 11 10:30amRSVP Please RSVP via sending me a PM by clicking here. Located in Fairfield's Joyce Park, Wake Nation is derived from a concept that is still sparsely known throughout the globe but is quickly evolving into a phenomenon. This watersports complex will be situated on an 8 acre lake and will use an innovative cabling system that was invented by Bruno Rixen of Munich, Germany to tow thrill seekers as they do incredible tricks wakeboarding, wakeskating, water skiing and knee boarding -- all without the use of a boat! This system allows the rider to begin from a standing position and can tow them at speeds up to 20 miles per hour. It's perfect for everyone from beginners to experienced watersport enthusiasts! Wake Nation will open in May 2009 and will offer rates in increments of 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour, all day, week and season passes. We'll see you out there! For more information visit Wake Nation's Official Web Site! Here's is an example of some experienced cable wake board thrill seekers at work! Didn't Surf Cincinnati close before you were born? To answer your question, no - it's nothing like Surf Cincinnati. That was a waterpark like Boomerang Bay. If you read the description above and watch the video that I posted you can get a pretty good idea of what it's all about.

G-Force
Hmm... I've never tried any water sports like that but maybe I should try this summer! One question about the event though, are guests of the KIC member who aren't members also allowed to come?
