gigacoaster2k
So my first visit is coming up at the end of next month. I'm definitely not missing out on Voyage and Pilgrims' Plunge, but how do Legend and Raven compare to each other? I don't want to hit Voyage first as I'm sure Legend and Raven will pale in comparison afterward. I've heard so many great things about this park, and I can't wait to go. For anyone who has been there, what would you suggest I do to make the most of my trip?
dare-to-fly
After you get your glory rides on all three coasters, do other things until afternoon. The lines for the coasters seem much shorter later on in the day, including Voyage. Raven and Legend are both great coasters. Raven is a very short ride, so picture about half of a Beast and take the trims off. That's about what you have in Raven. It's 5th drop is great from the back seat. Legend is good anywhere, and I highly suggest riding it in...oh boy, I get to say something unuasual for me...the very front seat at least once. Legend is also a much longer coaster, and has one really good airtime hill somewhere in the middle. The double helix can be a little rough, so I recommend sitting on the left side of the train so you don't wear your thigh out on the hollow seat dividers they have. As for Voyage - find a bad seat, I dare you! And unless they decided to trim it a little at the mid-course again, which is highly doubtful, as they only did that one year due to a problem with one of the curves - there are no trims in the entire park!!!! BavarianBeatle
I took my first trip last year. The Voyage is indescribable. The Raven and Legend do not pale in comparison IMO. I loved them all!! Make sure to spend some time in their waterpark. Liberty Launch was a fun little ride, but nothing like Power Tower. And I recommend the chicken and dumplings at Plymouth Rock Cafe. dare-to-fly
And I recommend the chicken and dumplings at Plymouth Rock Cafe. Hmmm...I'll have to try that this year. I usually go to BBQ Pork Sandwich Land - oops...I mean BBQ USA.
TOPGUN1993
My first Holiday World coaster was Legend and for the time being it was my #1 wooden coaster (for nearly 1.5 hours) I'd ride the 2 before voyage. Even though Voyage is absolutely amazing, so are both Raven and Legend in other ways. Don't miss Frightful falls its a great log flume very cool layout, it's my #2 fav. flume. Liberty Launch is 10 times better than Power Tower. Turkey Whirl is also a great ride, best of it's kind (imo) I am trying to plan another trip to Holiday World this season, I haven't been since 2007. gigacoaster2k
I forgot to add that I am not a fan of the spinning carnival rides. Those tend to make me very nauseous.
XGatorHead 8904
I agree with those above that say Raven and Legend do not pale in comparison to Voyage. Voyage is tied with Beast for my favorite woodie (I just couldn't let it surpass Beast, so I decided on a tie). Raven and Legend are very close behind. We went last year, you can view my TR here. Of course GatorGirl (known then as Mini Me, before I came up with the GatorGirl moniker) was with us, but we did get plenty of adult ride time in as well. Beatle's right, Plymouth Rock Cafe is terrific! And the food park-wide is very reasonably priced (and very good too). If you like tilt-a-whirls, Turkey Whirl is fun. Gobbler Getaway is a fun dark ride. Their Flying Eagles are very unsnappable, nowhere near as good as we used to have at KI. And if anyone's interested, don't forget the Unofficial KIC Road Trip to Holiday World on May 2nd (plug, plug)! Edit: While I was typing this, you just put in that you don't like spinning rides, so I guess Turkey Whirl is out!
The Interpreter
Do not miss the fudge under any circumstance. They have incredible fudge. Don't miss the toy museum...it's quite incredible, and includes a lot over very interesting things...Soak in the atmosphere of the place...as it is today. I, by the way, would strongly disagree with the characterization of Voyage as the best coaster in the park. For me that is, was, and for the foreseeable future will always be Raven. I simply adore that ride, especially in the back or front seats. Over in Dale, there is a cafe...it's very, very good and worth the trip. There's only the one...Windell's. It's truly awesome, everything is home made, and I'd gladly leave the park to eat there anytime. It's also not that far over to Owensboro, and the not to be missed Moonlite BBQ. Be sure to go during the buffet, if you venture over...it's about 40 minutes each way.

The Flying Eagles aren't really worth much, I agree. To ride good Flying Scooters without venturing too far away, Stricker's Grove has great ones.
