How crowded is Opening Day?

According to www.weather.com, the opening day forecast calls for a 60% chance of rain. I don't know if this will cause the ride to shut down :o:( or the park to remain open with fewer people :)

That's dramatically changed from twelve hours before, when it was calling for a 10% chance of rain. I'd call it a 50/50 chance that it will be raining on opening day, but I will believe that it is going to be in the 60's for temperature.

Of course there is a 50/50 chance of rain... I mean, it's either going to rain or it's not going to rain. I don't think I'm even going to call it a reliable forecast, one way or the other, until about Thursday of next week. If there's a little rain shower during the day, no big deal. If it's a washout, I don't see a point in going. I think, if anything, it probably will be just a little shower sometime during the day or a couple times during the day--not the steady kind of rain that hangs around all day. That's what I hope, at least.

As far as the crowds, it's incredibly difficult to predict. The weather will play a pretty big factor I think. But, I mean, when you factor in everything else that's going on right now, it could forecast less people for opening day. Then again, there is a brand new Cedar Fair ride opening that day, which could forecast more. I think it's going to be a pretty average attendance when you factor in all of that. I do not think it will be the most crowded day of the operating season.

I'm going to the sell out day the next day with that company. I can't wait, I hear it won't be crowded at all!

I'm sure you aren't allowed to say, but if you are allowed, which company is the private event for?

Well I know that, all weather thingy's are not 100% accurate until the day of...so I hope it changes.

Even the day of the forcast isn't accurate. I remember one day this past winter they were giving a couple inches of snow, even the morning of the day. Then, we recieved no snow!

I also remember a day from he...no I think more like Siberia last winter. They were forecasting 1-2 inches of snow that morning and we ended up with 8. That was certainly the deepest inch of snow I've ever seen. Thank goodness Jan. and Feb. are history for another year.

There have been years when snow has hit on Easter. And yes, some of those years, Easter was in April.

I remember a few of them, and to be honest, only about 1 or 2 nice Easters, ever. It always seems to be wet, cold, or a combination thereof. The reason for this comment...

Thank goodness Jan. and Feb. are history for another year.

...is because snow and cold weather are the only things in Jan. and Feb. At least all of the other months have some really, REALLY nice days amongst some of the crappy ones. I'm not that hard to please, but January and February are just not my favorite months. The rest are fine, and I'm happy.

Flyer, who tries to enjoy Jan. and Feb. and is usually successful for only New Year's Day.

Well Behemoth had a Season Pass Preview Night, and I saw a video of it's queue line during it, and the whole queue was filled and the line went way across the park. So I'd guess that in morning ERT it will be like that, and if you are in the back of the ERT line, you won't get off Diamondback til' probably 10:30am. So As long as I'm in the very front of the ERT line, than I could probably get a ride in, than get back in line, and about 30 minutes into it, the GP would arrive.

Hmmmmm....you have approximately my plan. Mine is the same until you talk about after your ride. At that point - The Beast is my hangout for the rest of ERT!
