paperg Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 WOW! That very first pic & the closer view of it. WOW! Guess I don't have much to say about it, just WOW! Anyway, Great pics!!! Quote
sgshredder33 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Great pics. It is crazy to see how much that area has changed. Quote
mrsteele Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 They really need to replace alot of those trees...used to be so much more beautiful to see. Quote
ftskatie Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 They really need to replace alot of those trees...used to be so much more beautiful to see. i think it will look more like that in the fall, but right now all the pretty trees don't have leaves. but i agree, it did used to be really beautiful. Diamondback is beautiful too, though Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Those photos are great. Thanks for posting them! It is amazing to see how the first photo of each of your posts is different from the last photo of your first post. It's kinda sad to see all of those trees gone. Quote
MillenniumBeast Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Once they get more trees filled in it will look very beautiful with Diamondback amongst them. Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I have to make a PowerPoint presentation for computer class. Do you mind if I use some of your pictures? Quote

I agree with these three...I was sad last year to see how many trees actually were taken out, yes Diamondback is also beautiful but some trees next to it would be great! add some of the same effect that beast does when going through the woods. I know you cant get trees too close to the coaster cause of safty reasons but there are areas where trees could be added and still be safe for the coaster and the riders...plus I think it would look neat with the trees around it personally. TopThrill Posted April 20, 2009 Author Posted April 20, 2009 Thanks for the comments, yeah the area really looks different now. They took down some really good looking trees, they need to be put back up. That would make a nice effect of trees near the track to hide it, just like The Beast and or Expedition GeForce. Quote
TheCryptRaider Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I like this! Thank you for posting, and I agree, Diamondback will be even more amazing (if that's possible) when trees grow around it. Quote
beastrider97 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 All the memories of Swan Lake. Walking past it, walking past it, and walking past it. Now they are gone taken over by the venom of Diamondback! Quote
TopThrill Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Thanks, here's some more. (5-23-08) (8-22-08) (11-02-08) (11-02-08) (11-02-08) (11-02-08) (4-24-09) (4-24-09) (4-24-09) Quote
TopThrill Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 I'm working on different skyline pictures of the park, it might take awhile I'm going to remove the power lines so it will look better. Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Wow the pond and trees looked so pretty back there. Now there are about 1/2 the trees and a fake cement pond. I really hope they develop this area over the next few seasons to make it more like the classic look. Quote
FOFreak Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Wow, this is just disgusting! The place used to look SO beautiful. They better at least plant some lush green grass! Quote
KIfan1980 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 For beautiful views there are some nice state parks. For Kings Island, I'm happy with the progress and new ride. That said, I hope that the area around DB is allowed to grow back up a little, but I'm not going to worry too much about it. In 1970, the whole place had was wooded. Quote
kittenpooh Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Great pictures. Thank you so much for sharing. Quote
TopThrill Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Thanks for the comments, not a problem. Like I said I'm still working on skyline pictures, which will take more time to do, I'm trying to remove the power lines so the pictures look better. Quote
Jasper Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 The pictures are great, and it is amazing how much that part of the park has changed over the years. Quote
BavarianBeatle Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I don't think it looks so bad now.... Quote
Jasper Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 From the pictures I have seen of that area it does look quite nice, not like Firehawk did for a while and was just a big barren spot. Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 And look how much nicer the Firehawk area looks now. Rome was not built in a day. The frost season isn't even over yet...Wait a year or so, then decide what the area looks like compared to the past. Quote
