NoLimits8705
Does anyone know what acts are suppose to come to Timberwolf this year? Thank you for your time. >>THIS IS THE ANTHEM THROW ALL YOUR HANDS UP!!
specialk141
welll im not really sure, and i havnet hear any kind of announcement yet.... but dont expect anything major. Correct me if im wrong, but Over the last few years, there really hasnt been anything huge that i can remember (with the exception of Styx / Reo Speedwagon last year and Britney spears before she becamse huge)... Seems to me all that ever comes anymore is SPIRIT SONG and other christian oriented music. I can remember when good acts would come like the yearly BEACHBOYS concert and well i may only be 18 but i remember going to a B52's Show when i was like 10 or something. Anyway, in my opinion, TIMBERWOLF has really slacked off. They need to bring in some good shows... i mean the place sits 10000, and thats a lot! - o yeah, it would be really nice to see a group like GOOD CHARLOTTE or SIMPLE PLAN play in the park, i could see them selling out with ease! Elder Panther
I saw Britney Spears there. It was at the end of August before either 7th or 8th grade I think. It was right after the summer where she had her first few major singles.
Rollercoast18
Spirit Song is great, 3 days of great Christian Music! WooHoo! I bought my tickets online in february. I am also 18 and I also remember going to the Beach Boys' concerts. The Beach Boys are great!
SML828
I remember seeing the Beach Boys a few times... As part of my job at PKI I worked at the concerts over the past years and some were decent, most were not. Britney was 4 years ago...I remember because at midnight that night I turned 21. I absolutely HATED the concert...people were so RUDE to us. The biggest concerts recently have been REO/Styx, O-Town, Aaron Carter (who sells out every time), Jessica Simpson, of course Spirit Song (another thing I hated working), Sugar Ray, Jars of Clay, and of course some others. I wonder what's coming this year...Timberwolf definitely needs an overhaul - it's a GREAT place - seating 10,000 people, but the layout isn't so great and the seats are definitely in need of some work. DegenRider
Timberwolfs seating needs be dosed over. Fresh coat of paint would help the stage too.
NoLimits8705
I wuld havta agree with you SOBRIDER, the seats are very very comfortable and I hate them. And besides everyone stands on them anyways! The stage is nice, but is embarassing!! A great example would be the Aaron Carter/A*teens concert in 2001 that attended ( GOTTA HAVE MY A*TEENS!! ), Dhani ( blonde guy from A*teens ) went to do these dace move where he slid and then scrapped his right leg over the left one. He came up and allthis dirt was on his ourfit...it was so embarassing to me and my gf!! Then also Marie and Sarah from A*teensstomp their feet to a beat and all this dust flew up and I was like this is embarassing and they will hate thns place!! They need to clean the stage better.....also the same thing happened at the O-town concert last year. >>SPECIALK141....dude you rock...they definantly need some GC up in there!! That wuld be awesome....they ROCK in concert!!

They need to clean the stage better.....also the same thing happened at the O-town concert last year I definatly agree that the stage needs some work..BUT just so you know both of those concerts you are talking about were performed on-top of specially designed Dance Floors that the groups bring with them.......So you can't really blame that on the T-Wolf stage, you actually have to contribute that to the fact that they are dancing on a floor that goes along on the tour with them...and gets pretty dirty throughout the course of the tour. Trust me some of the sets and stuff for those concerts are in really bad shape just from being hauled in trucks and setup and torn down every day....even though you can't see it from the audience. DragonLord
Timberwolf does need some repair. New benches would be great. It couldn't hurt to help the stage out a little either. You would think that Paramount (owned by Viacom, which owns MTV, VH1, CMT, ext) would have some great acts coming in. The only act I know of this year is Spirit Song. I haven't seen or heard of anyone else. Oh, my one complaint about Sprit Song is that the fine "Christian" people that were there really had bad mouths. I do my job by asking people not to video tape the concerts, not to use professional cameras and to not stand on the benches and I got nothing but cursed out and called a Nazis my about 90% of the people I had to approach. That's one of the worst parts about T-wolf in general, but especially at Spirit Song...I too had to tell people not to stand on the benches...Is it really that hard to understand? I think it was for the Aaron Carter / A-Teens concert...one guy got up in my face like he was gonna hit me...because I kept telling him and his kids to get off the benches, but "people in front him weren't"....Oy! People don't realize it's for their safety....

missdi
Not for sure of exact date, heard that Weird Al was going to be there sometime in June. Been checking PKI website for concert info, nothing listed yet.
DragonLord
Weird Al has already played at the park... I think. If he does come back I will make sure to work Timberwolf that day. I heard that Spears was really nasty when she was there and won't be asked back... I don't think she would be interested in coming to something as small as Timberwolf anyway. SML828
DragonLord - Let's just say what you've heard about Britney is true...I had the 'pleasure' of working the concert...and know people that were backstage - I never heard one good thing about her...the attitude! Mrs. G.
Weird Al is scheduled for July 27, according to his website, tickets go on sale May 10. He is playing at Navy Pier (Chicago) the day before and I would love to go and then drive to PKI and see him there the next day but have no clue how to get Timberwolf tickets. missdi
My husband just showed me where he found the Weird Al information at, go to www.qfm96.com, check concert listings. He will be at Timberwolf on 6/27, tickets go on sale Sat May 10 at 10am thru Ticketmaster.
Losing Streak
I hope you're right about weird al coming. Did anybody else go to his other show here? And good charlotte is garbage. Just to go on record as saying that. Edited January 1, 1970 by Losing Streak
Mrs. G.
Look here: http://www.weirdal.com/touring.htm I have never been to a concert at Timberwolf, is it worth a 300 mile drive? I think I'd use any excuse to spend another week at the park anyway....
Losing Streak
That's awesome... And Weird Al at timberwolf was cool. I can't tell you if it's worth 300 miles or not, but it's not a bad place to see a show.
missdi
Sorry about the wrong date of 6/27, this is info I got from the qfm96 website, they must have the wrong month, right day. Sorry again!

specialk141
actually, avril is not fake at all.... she is all real. Record executives tried to get her to be like britney... good girl and all that good stuff, but she refused, and she is exactly how she wants to be. She even writes most of her own music, which is what i really really respect about her. Avril is not fake.
Losing Streak
I refuse to fight you about crappy music on this board, it's a waste of my time, but if avril is so "punk rock," then why does she sing such pop-crap music?
DragonLord
Kings Island is not mentioning anything official about Weird Al. However, I did hear some managment people talking about how they wanted to get tickets for it when he came. When I asked some people about Weird Al's concert (guest relations, marketing, entertainment) no one knew anything about it. Some people did say that it would be strange if he came back b/c he only sold like 300 tickets the last time he was at the park. I wasn't there so I can't be sure on that. Like I said before, if he is coming to the park, I will do my best to work that day (b/c I can get backstage if I do!) so I can enjoy the concert! If you do go I should be in the pit somewhere, or on one of the sides watching the gates to backstage.
