BoddaH1994 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I made the trek up to Kings Island earlier today to check out the construction of the apparatus for the ASA World Tour. The ASA World Tour will visit Kings Island this Memorial Day Weekend and will feature some of the world's top athletes in BMX vert, skateboarding and motocross. Final touches are being put on the half-pipe, which will house the BMX vert and skateboarding competitions. The half pipe looks intimidating to say the least. In less than 48 hours from this writing, the top BMX and skateboard stars from the ASA World Tour will risk life and limb to earn valuable ranking points. The half pipe will be located on International Street between the International Bandstand and the Eiffel Tower. BMX Rider Simon Tabron takes a practice run. BMX vert rider Simon Tabron takes a practice run Thursday at Kings Island in preparation for the ASA Action Sports World Tour stop May 23 and May 24 at the Mason, Ohio amusement park. The two-day event features the world’s top pros in BMX and Skateboard vert and Freestyle Motocross and is included free with park admission. Make sure you're at Kings Island this Memorial Day weekend to check out this incredible event. It's going to be fun, it's going to be exhilarating, and most importantly it's going to be FREE with park admission! Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 That half pipe looks enormous. It's always fascinated me to see how people do the BMX and skateboard stunts without falling and breaking every bone in their body. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 The motocross jump will run parallel to the front gate. I'm especially excited about that. Quote
goofywdw Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 ^Woah really? Like where though? Right when you walk through the front gate or out by the tower? Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Right inside the gate, immediately in front of the front gate/International Restaurant. They were beginning to set up the fencing when I was there but they hadn't started constructing the ramps. Quote
goofywdw Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 That sounds really awesome. I can't wait to see some stuff tonight. Quote
