Colonel_SoB_fan
I am lazy and usually do not do these but since i have some good photos I will. First we arrive around after the BMX finals, so i missed that but before the FMX demo. I walk around the park and check out the lines and see Diamondback was not that bad, but everything else was. After a trip around it almost time for show time and head to the Main Gate and see these guys, I call them bucket line. Took a few shots of the ramps and got a front row standing place to get good photos and videos of the action. Then it was demo time. Before i show off these pics I must say this was awesome. 3 guys who were just out having fun and risking their lives for the entertainment of us Americans, what a way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend. This was my first FMX event and hopefully not the last. Great show. After the FMX Demo there was about 45 minutes between demo and Skateboarding vert finals so I hit up the 30 minuite wait for Diamondback. Great ride in row 8. After Diamondback it was time to see the Worlds greatest skatboarder on a vert, Pierre Luc Gagnon. PLG had won the last 7 events on the ASA World Tour, but would be upset by 35 year old Danny Mayer. Great to see these guys competing for a world title but still being friends while on the vert and competing. So after PLG got upset there was some time before the Pop Evil and Collective Soul. Not really my style of music, but how can you turn down a free concert. Although the bands were not my style of music, I did think they did a great job and liked how Pop Evil acknowledged the fact the there were little children in the crowd and watched what was said into the microphones. The highlight for me though was this . Yes that is Drop Tower STUCK at its highest point. Ironically that was close to 45 minutes after I turned down the line because it was 45 minutes according to the sign out front. Ugh that should been me. Here is a pic of the Collective Soul concert I ended up leaving a few songs into the concerts, went and did Flight Deck, Blue Racer, and of course a night ride on Diamondback. Great ride at night and as we finished the splashdown the first firework into the sky. Absolutely Amazing. Fast forward to 10 AM on Memorial Day, arrive back at Kings Island and find Diamondback stuck 230 feet in the air like this It would stay there until about 11:15 and would finally open at 11:30. During that time I did the Crypt, Beast, Backlot Stunt Coaster, and Vortex. After that I went and did Diamondback since it had just opened and only had about a 15 minute wait. After Diamondback the amazing Son of Beast was calling my name. After a 20 minute wait I was sitting in the second row on the Blue Train, amazing ride all I can say. After SOB went and did Drop Tower in 10 minutes. After this Diamondback still had a relatively short line so I went and did row 2 on the red snake after a 25 minute. So after 2 days in the park I was exhausted so I left. Thank You Kings Island for putting on an amazing weekend. Where Else Also if you want to see all my photos go to my photobucket page http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o320/fhsmvball07/ I have youtube videos of the action but they are crap
MillenniumBeast
I was one of the ones stuck on Drop Tower! At first I was a little creeped out and panicking but after a while it really wasn't too bad. It was weird because it felt like the whole park was watching me. I thought it was way too crowded yesterday, though. And the wait was only about 30 minutes, maybe a little less. Skywriter
I watched the FMX show 2 time and the last one of the day was the best it ran over 5-10 min and there was so many backflips and it was really fast paced and the riders were very energetic.
