City Expecting $50,000 In Tax Funds From Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom

Aurora -- City Council last week unanimously OK'd an agreement with Cedar Fair Entertainment which could bring in $50,000 annually in income/admissions tax revenue from Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom.

That figure will be more than double the $15,000 to $20,000 the city administration previously estimated for 2009.

The deal with Cedar Fair will see the city receive 31 percent of income/admissions taxes from the park, with the remainder going to Bainbridge Township. The agreement for this year is retroactive to Jan. 1.

"Since only a portion of the park is in Aurora, the tax covers only that area," Finance Director Bob Paul said....
