KI Trip

I just got back from Kings Island the other night, and i'm going back on monday. Wednesday was my first time at KI, and i really enjoyed it! I've gotten so used to going to Cedar Point, it was good to mix things up a little.

The first day it was pouring down rain, which turned out to be great. Many people left, even though ALL of the rides stayed open.Of course, they could only run one car on each coaster, but the lines were never past 15min.. which is extremely short for someone who is used to the 1hr-1hr and a half lines at CP.

I went on the Diamondback by myself once when my friends ditched me for a water ride ( who wants to ride a water ride in the rain?!?! ), and as i was going up to the gate the ride is shut down. The reason kinda scared me.. A girl was claiming that her lap bar didn't go all the way down and she was flying out of her seat. They tested the restraints, the managers rode the ride, and everything was fine. They're pretty sure they just didn't push it down all the way..

Second day was pretty great as well. In the morning, me and my friends got stuck quite a few rides! Son of Beast, Avatar, ScoobyDoo, Adventure Express, and i forget the others. It was mostly because of the rain that the rides stopped, but some of it was a park guest or accident. On the Adventure Express they put a guy with a cast on the wrong side of the train, leaving our cart on the lift for about 10 minutes.. Avatar the deck wouldn't go up, and it only did half a cycle.. SoB they never told us what went wrong, but we were stuck at a flat part for quite a bit, and scoobydoo is just scooby doo.. about thirty seconds into the ride it stops and the "technical difficulties" message comes over the intercom.

On monday i'm going back with another group of friends, one of them being my foreign exchange friend from Korea! Should be great! :D

And perhaps that Diamondback guest just had no idea what airtime on a coaster is supposed to feel like! :)

Possibly :P

She spent forever explaining it to the manager. I was watching and listening when she was explaining, and she kept telling them there was "THIS BIG" of a gap in her restraint. It wouldn't have freaked me out as much if the maintenance wouldn't have come out with a crowbar to check the restraint LOL
