My niece is 48 inches tall....

We're planning our annual trip to either park....I am dying to go to Cedar Point, but I don't think my niece will "enjoy" it as much as Kings Island. The reason why I say that, because she's 4ft tall officially and thats that magical height for the big coasters.

I can see her pointing and asking if she can go on this or that at Cedar Point and we were wanting to wait until she could do everything before taking her there. Kings Island last summer, she wanted to go on Vortex so badly...but I told my brother that Kings Island would be the better place to start off at with the bigger coasters.

So my ? is...which would be better to do? What coasters won't she be able to do verses park? I never went to Cedar Point until I was much older and way over 4ft.

Cedar Point's rides page isn't working for me currently, but you can find their height requirements for all the rides in the park at this page:

http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/complete.cfm

Kings Island's height requirements can be found in the rider safety guide here:

http://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/att...ridersafety.pdf

At 48" inches (but below 52") she'll be able to ride everything except The Crypt, Delirium, Diamondback, Firehawk, Flight of Fear and Invertigo.

There are more rides at CP that she will not be able to ride. I started mine at KI, with only four rides (at the time; FH and DB have since been added) that they couldn't ride. In my opinion (I'm sure others will disagree with certain items on this list), KI is better at 48 inches for a number of reasons:

1. Flight Deck is better than Iron Dragon

2. AE is better than Cedar Creek Mine Ride

3. Vortex is better than Corkscrew

4. The Beast and SOB are better than Mean Streak

5. Drop Tower is 48 inches while Power Tower is, I believe, 52 inches

6. They have nothing like BLSC, which kids tend to enjoy

7. KI's "bigger rides" (except DB) are more secluded than CP's and won't be "in her face" as much (For example, Invertigo is in a corner, you won't have to walk her through X Base, and The Crypt is not visible)

But granted, we have nothing like Magnum or MF. And Blue Streak and The Racer are in a tie. But, based on my experiences and the input of my kids, KI is better at that age.

It all depends on what she likes honestly. I went to CP for the first time this weekend and was in total awe of how many flat rides there were. However, I would suggest KI first for big rides for two reasons: 1. It will only build up the thrill for Cedar Point; 2. If she is taken to CP first some of the rides at KI might seem relatively tame to her and she might be diappointed by KI. All in all, it's up to the person that's taking her, but I would recommend KI first for big rides.

Rides that are a 48" requirement at KI:

SoB

Beast

BLSC

Drop Tower

Racer

Flight Deck

Vortex

48" at CP:

Blue Streak

Cedar Creek Mine Ride

Corkscrew

Disaster Transport

Gemini

Iron Dragon

Magnum

Mean Streak

MF

Wildcat

Demon Drop

Take your pick.

Of course location of rides, her willingness to ride them, crowds, the drive to the park, etc. all come into play.

I'm bored, you're welcome.
