7/24 of Magic Springs Rides Not Operating

Recommended Posts

Parc owns this park. And seven of the twenty-four rides are closed!

...But so far this season, there haven't been as many screams and thrills. That's because seven of the 24 rides have closed signs. That's 34 percent that aren't operating, including some of the most popular rides like the X-Coaster and the Arkansas Twister. There's also a kiddie pool at Crystal Falls on the list.

Pam says, "That is why we came over to the swimming park a little earlier because they were disappointed with the rides."

The problems started at the close of last season. Routine maintenance on some rides turned into major repairs. ...

By the way, the writer can't do math. 7/24 is NOT 34 percent. Sigh. It's not even 30 percent. Still nothing to be proud of, though.

Guys,

I am great at math. Yes, according to your title, 7/24 would be the answer that Corey had posted. However, that was not what the article said. It stated that 7 of the 24 rides are closed. The author continued that that equates to 34% of the rides are not functioning. I stated that that is a little more than 1/3, so the author is not off but a fraction of a percent.

I am good at math too. But, 7 out of 24 is a little less than a third. And, the author is off by four and five sixths percent.

Yes I said that in my previous post. However, 7/24 was not mentioned in the article and (7 rides of 24) was the figure I was referencing.

But anyhoo, we are both correct in our responses (your title and the statement from the article that I used) and that 's always good. :) I wanted to tease you just a touch and I *think* we all got a giggle from it today.

Uh, read the first post. Read the second sentence of what I quoted. It has not been changed in any way, sort, manner or fashion. I promise. And your statement says 7 of the 24 rides are closed. I go on only to seek understanding...as one of us is missing something!

Put another way, 1/3 (less than 34 percent of 24) is 8. Seven rides are closed. That is less than 1/3...it is the figure we all have cited, including Cory.
