I_heart_pki
Monday night me and my friend made a spur of the moment decision and decided to go to the park. We left that night and stayed at a condo a friend of ours rents during the summer. We left for the park around 9:15 and got there right as they were singing the National Anthem. We decided to go to Action Zone first and headed to Delirium. We were the second ride of the day and it was a walk on. Headed over to Flight Deck after that and it was a walk on as well. then, we decided to go to FoF and on the way made a pit stop to AE. I have to praise the ride ops on Adventure Express. They were very enthusiastic and said some pretty things. One of the ops said she loved Adventure Express because it was a ride for all ages and it is always awesome to ride with Grandma. I thought that was so funny. After AE, we took our time and headed to FoF. I love walking Through Coney Mall. Especially when it isn't too crowded. We waited about 20 minutes for Flight of Fear and I finally talked my friend into riding Diamondback with me. She was a little freaked out by it haha. I can never get a picture of the splash. My timing is terrible haha. The line for DB took about half an hour and we were put in row 2. I love the front of this ride. There is just something about it that is so different from any other coaster. After Diamondback my friend was hungry so we went to the Festhaus and had LaRosa's. I was pretty annoyed with the service. The person that filled drinks had no idea what he was doing. We wanted to get a souvenir cup and it took the man almost 10 minutes to give us our drink and even after asking us three times what we wanted he still gave us the wrong drink. We caught the end of one of the shows also. I'm really happy that the park is bringing back the shows. After eating we headed back to FoF and Firehawk. both took about half an hour. When we rode FoF we rode in the 4th car. I think that is my favorite seat on the coaster. The launch feels so much more intense. Then, we headed over to Vortex. The line took about 15 minutes and once we were in the car I looked to my right and saw a girl pass out in the queue. TWO THUMBS UP to the ride ops. They worked quick and calmly and got the girl to the exit to wait for the medics. I was very impressed. Once we got off of Vortex we headed over to BLSC and didn't even wait 15 minutes. I wanted to ride Diamondback again so we were put into row 15. My friend was so amazed at how different the back was compared to the front. She now prefers the back to the front haha. After Diamondback were pretty hot and tired so we decided to ride WWC. I got completely drenched while the only thing wet on my friend was her legs and feet. Completely soaked we headed to The Beast and rode Diamondback again. Row 2 AGAIN. I was pretty thrilled. Headed over to Scooby Doo after that and rode it twice. I can never win that stupid game. I'm always too busy watching haha. We headed back over to Action Zone and rode Delirium again and Invertigo. Then we headed back to Festhaus to catch Down Home Country. Pretty good show. I'm a huge Johnny Cash fan so when I heard Folsom Prison Blues I was pretty happy. After the show, one of the performers came over and talked to us. His name's Brian. We decided to Ride FoF and Diamondback again. On the way to FoF I noticed that my foot started hurting. Nothing too bad so we went ahead and rode FoF and headed to DB. The pain kept getting worse but I still wanted to ride so we were put in row 7. After the ride we were walking back to Vortex I got a really sharp pain in my foot and had to sit down. Apparently the water ride plus socks and tennis shoes equaled a huge blister on my foot that caused me to have to leave the park early. I was so annoyed. I have been waiting all season to ride The Beast at night and have yet to be able to. I swear next trip even if I lose an arm I'm riding it at night! Ugh. Besides almost losing my foot because of a blister the size of a silver dollar, I had a great time! I hope to go back ASAP! Here are some random pics from the park that I didn't think to put in before haha.
Avatar
Nice report I_heart_pki I enjoyed the read and sounds like you broke your friend in right on DB with first car second seat. I am like you, Glad the shows have returned to Kings Island.
The Interpreter
Great pix! I remember when that urn with the wrought iron fence around it in Coney Mall was a fountain spray (a miniature geyser) little kids (and I) could walk through and play in. Later, they put up the fence, while leaving the fountain spray. Then, even it was gone. I still wonder why.
