June 29, 200917 yr Man, oh man! There are some great memories in that video!!! The Bat was just SO superior to the suspended coasters that followed it. Sure, what made it great is also what killed it- but it was FUN while it lasted! Nice to see some clips of some other gone and very missed favorites, too: Zodiac, Flying Dutchman, The Racer with paint, The Beast with water and without the satanic trim brakes... sigh
June 29, 200917 yr That's been posted many, many times, but it's a great video and deserves reposting. Perhaps the first time it was posted was here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...;hl=d1CIOVIK6Cc In any event, it's fantastic and well worth a bump!
July 6, 200917 yr Author yea, i was hessitent about posting it because i couldn't search "The Bat" to see if it was posted before, and it was so yea, if any admin wants to they can close this topic.
July 7, 200917 yr What a good video to watch! It was nice to see The Racer racing, the old Beastie sign, and even the four bench trains on The Beast. And do my eyes decieve me, but I believe I see a Beast first drop with not a trim brake in sight! Ahhh, the good ole' days.
July 7, 200917 yr I meant post that fast. You must be reading this topic. I wish I could have ridden in 1979. I didn't come into coasters until the mid-80's. At least I got to experience the trimless rides.
July 8, 200917 yr Author ^i do too, i wish i could have rode The Beast when it was still the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster.
July 9, 200917 yr The Bat remains my favorite coaster of all time. Of all the rides that have come and gone, The Bat is the one I miss the most.
