fbama73
Man, oh man! There are some great memories in that video!!! The Bat was just SO superior to the suspended coasters that followed it. Sure, what made it great is also what killed it- but it was FUN while it lasted! Nice to see some clips of some other gone and very missed favorites, too: Zodiac, Flying Dutchman, The Racer with paint, The Beast with water and without the satanic trim brakes... sigh
The Interpreter
That's been posted many, many times, but it's a great video and deserves reposting. Perhaps the first time it was posted was here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...;hl=d1CIOVIK6Cc In any event, it's fantastic and well worth a bump! The Beast Rider
What a good video to watch! It was nice to see The Racer racing, the old Beastie sign, and even the four bench trains on The Beast. And do my eyes decieve me, but I believe I see a Beast first drop with not a trim brake in sight! Ahhh, the good ole' days.

The Beast Rider
It wouldn't be the first time! How did you do that so fast??
The Interpreter
I don't have to look. I rode it then. I know what was there.
The Beast Rider
I meant post that fast. You must be reading this topic. I wish I could have ridden in 1979. I didn't come into coasters until the mid-80's. At least I got to experience the trimless rides.
coaster_junky
^i do too, i wish i could have rode The Beast when it was still the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster.
DiamondbackLover
Cool video. Never rode it, but it always seemed like a fun ride.
WooferBearATL
The Bat remains my favorite coaster of all time. Of all the rides that have come and gone, The Bat is the one I miss the most.
