LimeRockstars
Well i've been working on this darn thing for almost a week now, and its finally done after combatting power outages and work. But anyway, CP was awesome, minus the horrendous lines, and outrageous amount of people. Now this is going to be kinda long but there is some funny stuff in it. Some entertaining encounters with people, park employees.. oh and not to mention the wonderful wildlife of the park. Happy reading =] Day one, We started the day off pretty tame, Iron Dragon, it gets a 6. My friend and I are both fans of the suspended arrow coasters.. but not so much this one. I did like how they took advantage of the flick.. but it needed more of it. By this time the park was opening so we moved onto Corkscrew, which gets a 5, it needed a good sweep over (our car was covered with spiderwebs). Then we rode the power tower, a 7 (I love the ones that shoot you up). After a short trip to the little girls room we moved onto Magnum, gets an 8.5. Waited in line for about 15 minutes and lucked out when they needed two people to fill a spot. I went to put my phone in my purse and realized I had left my phone in the bathroom! My friend called my phone and thankfully someone picked it up. We agreed to meet when we got off the ride, so on we went. Loved this coaster, great speed, awesome air time, about 3/4 of the way through though a cell phone came flying back towards my friend nearly hitting her in the face (the cell phone gods were not very happy with us). We get off the ride and I go to look at our photos and what did i see? Boobs.. yeah thats right.. nip and everything, thanks a lot hippy lady behind us. So i have to ask... do they not lock the photos there like they do at KI? We met the lady.. i got my phone back.. off we went to the back of the park. First stop Gemini, honestly both trains got a 3, only two good drops on that one.. but still not enough. Rode mean streak, I gave it a 4. I'm a huge woodie buff and it just didn't do it for me. Not enough air time.. freaking trim breaks going down the first hill totally killed it for me. Oh and not to mention the crew screwing up all the facts and arguing about it while on the mic. Off to Maverick, so far my friend and I are kinda disappointed. We waited in line for about an hour, I amused myself by feeding the fishies some of my granola bar. I liked the crew on this one, one of the girls heckled some guy with sunglasses.. asking him how much they cost, to which he said 800. She told him he would want to put them in the box, of course he tried to argue with her so she told him "if you really want to wear them that badly go buy a two dollar strap, if you can afford 800 for sunglasses, i'm sure you can afford 2 dollars for a strap." lol. My friend and I decided since we had waited that long we might as well ride the front seat, and I loved it. So it gets a 9. We were pretty hungry by this point so we started stumbling around for food. My god I thought Kings Island's prices were bad... i've decided I can't ever complain about anything at KI again, lines or prices. So after passing up many options we ended up eating in Kiddie kingdom.. which is where we had employee encounter #1. This kid HATED the world and was a rude little twit. The person before me snatched her drinks and stormed off after he slammed her money down on the counter and tried punching the money drawer closed 5 times before he got her drinks. He then turned to me and asked me, "What do you want" "I'd like a hotdog basket" *kid rolls eyes* "That will be 5.53" "Um I'd like a drink too" "What?" "Bottle of water" *kid rolls eyes again* "Anything else" "Yeah, a better attitude" The kid gets my food and I move over to let my friend order. As I am searching around for condiments I ask my friend if she has seen any anywhere, the kid chimes in "Oh you wanted stuff on your hot dog, why didn't you tell me when you ordered" In retrospect I should have complained but I forgot his name 10 minutes later. We moved onto Wicked Twister, it gets a 6. It was a cool concept, and would have been a better roller coaster if the ride wasn't so short for such a long line. So, now that i've ridden it, probably won't wait more than 15 minutes for it. Then we decided to head back to mantis and MF to see if the lines were any shorter than they were. We hopped on the sky cab (which gets a -5,000,000,071 since I am horrified of those things.) Got in line for Mantis, it gets a 5, not a big fan of stand up coasters. So as i'm trying to get into the seat/crtotch killer one of the crew starts getting mad at me and keeps telling me over and over again (while in my face) to sit down. Finally I snapped back i'm freaking trying my pants are stuck. He backed up and looked down and was like oh.. sorry. Lol. Then we ran back to the car since it was getting chilly. On the way back to the car wildlife encounter #1 occured.. I got pooped on by a seagull, so that was awesome.. Then we headed over to the frontier area to get dinner. On the way we stopped by the Cedar Creek Mine Ride just so we could say we rode it. on the second lift hill we stopped 3/4 of the way up and were sitting there for a good 5-7 minutes when someone came over the p.a. and told us that this was a "regularly scheduled routine stop". So of course my friend and I are like great, we are going to have to be evacuated off this!? So then it jerked back to a start and on we went. Lame. After that we got food and were walking back towards the main part of the park, I was on the outside of the path closest to the bushes with a good 3 foot gap in between myself and the edge of the walkway when out of nowhere comes a running kid, so I had to jump out of the way so I wouldn't hurt him... but while in the process I got ran over by two security guards that had been running up beside me. The two that knocked me over kept running and so did the next two, but the fifth stopped and helped me up as I'm laughing my butt off, and was like what just happened?! he asked me if i was okay and apologized many times till I told him to go catch up with the others and that he was obviously needed much more there. (seriously this kind of junk happens to me all the time) We decided to make one more trip through the frontier trail, mainly because i wanted to feed the chickens. I was feeding this one out of my hand that had gotten out of the main fence when out of no where. Mr. Albino Turkey Butt decided he wanted to be mean. He stuck his neck out of the fence and lunged for my hand.. but alas I was faster. He then followed me around the fence for a couple minutes. I even handed off the food to my friend and she tried feeding him. After he saw the food he was STILL chasing me around. So finally i decided to try to feed him to be nice. Bad Idea. He pecks MUCH harder than the little chickens do >.<. Haha it was funny though, that little jerk had it in for me I swear. So then we got in line for MF expecting it to be the last ride of the night. I loved MF it was an amazing ride. It gets a 9.5, and it would be a 10 from the front seat i'm sure. I went the whole ride arms up.. the guy in front of me was holding on for dear life haha. When we got out of line we had about 20 minutes left before the park closed so we rushed over to power tower and rode it again. The park is so pretty all lit up at night =]. Then we had 10 minutes left at this point so we rushed over to Magnum and got in line, we got our last ride right at 11. The night ride was much better, there was definitely less trim break right before the pretzely section so that made it way more enjoyable. Day two. Started off the day late. Rode raptor, I give it an 8. I love inverted coasters like that =]. Then we got in line for TTD at about 9:45, so I asked the crew at the station if my fanny pack was okay and they told me it was fine. So we get to the actual entrance for the line and the guy is like you have to put that in a locker, I of course argued but gave in with the understanding that my friend could go ahead and I could just meet up with her. Finding her in the line was horrendous I had a lot of people that were angry as heck with me and wouldn't let me through. So i climbed over the fence and they were like we're going to tell and I was like.. thats nice I have permission and walked off. TTD gets a 7. Its a nice ride and all but definitely not worth the normal wait for it. I've ridden it once. I don't have a want to go rushing back for it. Then we decided to go see what the disaster transport was all about. It gets a 1, I was so disappointed with it. Reading the description I was kind of excited, I had never been on a bobsled style coaster and the special effects description sounded pretty neat. But it was awful you couldn't see ANY of the special effects that they spent 4 million dollars on. I could vaguely make out at what I am guessing were supposed to be "special effects". And I was under the impression that it was supposed to be a 3D experience. I guess I missed that memo. So we left that coaster being severely disappointed, so we decided to finish off the day with a good 'ol woodie. We waited in line for Blue Streak for about 20 minutes and were actually considering stopping by KI before we went home to get our beast fix. Blue streak gets a 7 just because i experienced something on there that I never have in my life. Since their lap bar system is adjusted differently than say The Racer I did two clicks and had an abundance of space, I left my belt very lose. As we were going over the little air time hills I was getting more air time than I have on any coaster i've ever ridden. Haha I loved it <3 So that was our trip. It was crazy as it always is with she and I. Sorry its so long but so much happened lol.
The Interpreter
First trip to Cedar Point...and this critical of the rides there? I really feel sorry for you. I hope you had more fun than this report makes it sound. I know different people are different, and I am not criticizing you, but as for me, if I ever get that over-analytical about the coasters and rides I do, I hope someone suggests that I move to Europe and write bad poetry for the rest of my days! I'm sorry that that is the mood that you got from reading this. It was not at all what I intended. Yeah, I did not enjoy some rides.. but for reasons that I defended and really the only two I did not like were Sky Ride and Disaster Transport. I'm sorry that I was giving my opinion on how I felt about the ride.. but I thought that was the whole idea of a trip report. Now if the reason why you think I am being critical is because of my number rating system.. just pretend that 9 is the highest, because of all the rides i've ridden in my life.. there is only one 10, and that would be the front seat of The Beast at night =]. And for me analyzing the roller coasters is part of the fun for me, its an industry that I want to work in when I get done with school. So I guess its just second nature by now. *shrugs*
The Interpreter
It's okay, as long as you had fun. It may well be that that is how you enjoy things. I in no way meant to criticize you. Have fun in the parks! And watch out for those gulls...they've gotten me before, too. More than once, and always at Cedar Point!

gigacoaster2k
I'm glad you enjoyed Millie and Raptor! Those are my two favorites at CP. I love Maverick, Magnum and Blue Streak too.. I try not to go to CP without riding any of the five I just mentioned, but I could lap Millie and/or Raptor all day and be one happy girl! Next time you go though, you must ride maXair.. IMO it blows Delirium out of the water. And if you want a spectacular view of the park and surrounding lake, ride the Giant Wheel as the sun is setting. I fell madly in love with CP on my first visit two years ago, and have not shut up about it ever since.
raptor
Cedar Point's Skyride is one of my favorite rides anywhere, it's one of the few traditional style one's that are around anymore and with that view of the lake you can't beat it! LimeRockstars
It looks like you didn't like lots of them according to the link in your signature. Actually, 1/2 of those got messed up but there is no way to go back and change your rating number, at least not that i've been able to find. And I said I was hard with the number system.. as in I have only rated one as a ten. I fell madly in love with CP on my first visit two years ago, and have not shut up about it ever since. I wanted to ride maXair but my friend didn't want to because she hates Delirium, but I guess that leaves something for the next. trip =) I will be visiting all the flat rides I missed when I go back in october. Cedar Point's Skyride is one of my favorite rides anywhere, it's one of the few traditional style one's that are around anymore and with that view of the lake you can't beat it! Lol, this is going to sound ridiculous, but they scare the crap out of me. The first time we rode it my friend made me sit so i was going backwards and i was literally freaking out the entire ride. I don't know why they scare me so bad. I can ride roller coasters until i am blue in the face.. but put me on something that all i'm being supported by is a cable and I just can't do it, ski lifts are the same way. Its probably the same reason why i am too scared to do slingshot or Xtreme Skyflyer.
raptor
I'm the same way on rides that hang you upside down way up high and hover, like Delirium, especially if you don't have a seat belt for double protection

When I ride vertigo, I make sure my back is to the track for the lift hill... otherwise I freak out haha.
