...Dora Britton said attending the Michigan State Fair is a family tradition. "We've been coming here since my daughter was his age," said Dora Britton pointing to her grandson. She talked about the economy and why it was important for them to attend the fair this year.

"Even though the economy is bad, every family still has to do something to keep them going," she said. "Times are tight, but we promised him he could see some animals and he was so excited, and that's why we had to be here."

The state is expected to eliminate the State Fair along with other programs to help balance the budget....
