On Friday, August 28, I decided to make a trip out to Kings Island because I figured that the lines would be fairly short due to schools being back in session, people working, and most high school football teams playing their first games of the season later that night. That being said, I decided to head up on Friday, September 4 after work for my 12th visit of the season because the lines would be fairly short like last time, but was a little leery of this because of it being Labor Day weekend.

I arrived to the park around 4:15pm and found that the parking lot barely went passed the Kings Island marquee. I parked in Gold Pass 52 and headed up towards the front gate. It wasn't very busy up towards the front gate but I did notice that they had more turnstiles open figuring that it would be much busier with Labor Day weekend and some people maybe taking a vacation day resulting in a longer weekend.

Started off at Diamondback- I got a total of 15 rides in on this trip bringing my season total to 65. Also, I never waited more than 5 minutes to ride Diamondback during this visit. During my 2nd ride, I got the chance to ride with Gary Coleman- one of the people that has already accrued over 1000 rides on Diamondback this season. I asked him how many rides he has so far and he said something in the 1000's or 1100's- I can't remember exactly. After this, I rode solo for three times and decided to head over towards The Beast where I walked on. The station was empty!

After The Beast, I headed over towards Vortex where I walked on twice, once in 1-1 and 7-1. After experiencing 12 inversions in less than 10 minutes, I decided to stumble off Vortex and take a breather. I ran into one of my former co-workers who was visiting the park with his girlfriend, and I asked him if he's had the opportunity to check out Diamondback yet. He said no, and that he doesn't like rollercoasters all that well and the only coaster in the park he has ridden is Adventure Express. I offered to show him around and attempt to turn him into a "Ride Warrior" but he declined. We chatted for a little bit before we went our separate ways.

After this, I headed up Coney Mall and headed back towards X-Base to see how the lines were here. Got in line for Flight of Fear and waited less than 5 minutes before I was on my way. Sat in the second to last seat and I think that the ride seems much faster back there. Following my ride on Flight of Fear, I decided to head back over towards Diamondback where I spent the majority of the remainder of the evening. On my first ride back, I got the opportunity to ride with Andrew Klenk, another person who has accrued 1000 rides on Diamondback so far this season. After this ride, I ran into Adam (PKIBoy) who was also with Gary Coleman and the three of us got a total of 7 rides in before me and Adam decided to head over towards Action Zone.

Both of us headed over towards Action Zone. We went to check out how busy it was on this side of the park. Continuing through Oktoberfest, Adam and myself got a front seat ride on Red Racer on the way. We then headed back over towards Diamondback again. We ended up waiting less than 5 minutes before getting on and the line was almost back to the entrance with no switchbacks open. After this, I decided it was time to head over towards The Beast for a night ride, and Adam tagged along. Waited two trains for the front row and as always, The Beast delivers one hell of a night ride! After this, me and Adam headed over towards Diamondback once again and we got on the last train of the night. Following this, we saw Andrew Klenk once again coming up to us at Diamondback saying that he lost his wallet. While he looked through the bins that he put his wallet into, we got to watch maintenance put away the trains for Diamondback. It was pretty cool watching how this was done.

More to come when I get out to the park again. Thanks for reading!
