Another Season Pass Question

Ok, so I am going to go ahead and get season passes. I THINK we want a Gold pass - that gives us free parking, correct? Does it give us close parking, or standard parking? And for my family of three (me, my wife, and our four-year old), do we ALL need Gold Passes, or can we just get one for me?

Sorry for the questions, on the official site it's kinda vague.

Thanks!

RD

This one's easy for now. ALL renewal Kings Island passes sold (except Platinum, of course) are currently upgraded to gold...no additional charge. Gold pass parking is reserved in the square lot closest to the drop off point. You can park anywhere else you wish, except in parking for people with disabilities or the preferred lot. You can pay the upcharge and park in preferred on those days you wish.

EDITED to add the words renewal and currently...see below. 9/22/2009 06:41 a.m.

Note also this may end at anytime.

No, this year is different. All renewal passes sold during this weekend are upgraded to gold, free of charge. You are unfortunately right, this year they are selling regular passes long before Memorial Day:

So, you have several things to think about. ONLY gold and platinum passes are getting admission to the Halloween Haunt included, or so they say right now. To get free parking, the gold passholder must be in the vehicle. There may be other gold pass benefits introduced later, and if you have a regular pass, you won't get them (same for any family member with only regular).

Currently the difference between gold and regular is $10 for regulars and $5 for juniors/seniors. Here's what the website says upgrading to gold (instead of regular) gets you right now:

Upgrade to a 2010 Gold or Platinum Pass and get FREE season-long parking (a $39.99 savings), early rides on Diamondback and The Beast every day, early access to Boomerang Bay every day, a reserved parking area, unlimited admission to next year's Halloween Haunt, and a long list of other VIP perks at Kings Island!

The Kings Island website uses frames, so if this doesn't take you directly to that page, look for the season pass information.

Also, this error is so important I am going back and editing my first post in this thread. Thank you for noticing it. This teaches yet again that that which always was or was recently may have changed.
