Slaughter House or Cut-Thraot Cove

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. I know there are a lot of topics about Haunt, and specific mazes like Slaughter House and Cut-Throat Cove to discuss them, but I want to see which one people prefer. I personally have not been through either yet, so I'm going to wait to vote. I realize it is early in the season, but I wanted to get your first impressions.

As McSalsa would say, if you get annoyed by polls, I don't know why you're in this forum. Just hit the little back button. Otherwise, enjoy!

Simply because SH is longer. ALOT longer!

Cut-Throat Cove. Because at least Cut-Throat Cove had one good scare (The two ladies in the bed) as opposed to Slaughterhouse with zero.

^Come on now, Justin... remember you went through on a rehearsal night. ;) There have been changes since then. When we came in on Friday, the room Typical Guy and I were in was completely changed, so we had to totally rework everything we had done before. And I think it worked out better the way it's set up now.

^ That and the fact that the maze was half done on rehearsal night kind of threw us all back.

That's good. When I went through on rehearsal night, it seemed kind of bare. Especially the room with a random leather couch in it. I assume that room has been changed around and makes sense now.

No offense to you Gary, or anyone else working Slaughterhouse, but I just didn't think it was anything special when I went through it. Things may have improved since then, but I haven't had a chance to go back through and I probably won't have a chance to go through. Granted, I went through that during the day when it's obviously not at it's best, but I still didn't like it all that much.

I just had to chime in on the current topic. I agree with XGator-Zombie and his comments. to play Devil's Advocate, Justin, you are more than entitled to your opinion. The bottom line is no one is going to like every haunt. to repeat XGator, a lot of elements have changed, and none of the other scareactors got to see them, so naturally, the experience is not going to be the same. Actually, last year, when I was in Urgent Scare, I heard many of the same comments,"Urgent Scare sucked","not scary, just gory", "boring". All these comments did was make me work harder to scare people, and US got much better as Haunt went on.

We all did the rehearsal week walkthroughs, and there were some I liked and some I didn't like. Am I going to voice my opinion, no, for a couple of reasons. First of all, we scareactors are jaded, and while our co-workers get the good practice of having people other than supervisors and other house members walking through multiple times, we do not have the same experience because we are too observant of what is going on. The second reason I withhold my opinion is that obviously people other than scareactors populate KI Central and we all want anyone who is interested to come to Haunt and visit our maze. That being said, I hope that anyone who reads this will visit as many mazes as they wish to and form your own opinion, good, bad or indifferent. Any feedback we get from the public at large benefits all of us.

Lastly, let me say that this is in no way a jab against you Justin, as I respect your opinion, and I think if you had the opportunity to walkthrough again, you might change your mind, or maybe not, it is all a matter of perspective

Well put!!!

Both attractions have been changed/ added to since rehearsal. I recommend people try them both. I do agree with other people though. The two are on different levels... Slaughterhouse has the gore going for it, while Cut Throat doesn't. Slaughterhouse delivers it's scare in accompany to the gore. Cut Throats scare is based solely around what is coming next and that element of surprise. The pirates have to make thier environment scary, while Slaughterhouse already is.

I am completely bummed about not being able to go through Slaughterhouse. I was praying for you guys on rehearsal day.
