Neil Ammons, Owner of Family Kingdom, Passes

One of his employees said Neil Ammons had the determination of Michael Jordan. Another remembers him driving the bus to pick up employees who didn't have a ride to work.

Ammons owned many businesses along the Grand Strand, including Sea Mist Resort and the Family Kingdom Amusement Park.

Ammons died Sep. 24 at the age of 63, leaving behind a dedicated core of employees who say they'll miss his leadership and honesty.

"If you did something stupid, you just told him about it and he'd say not to do it again," said Bobbi Natali, a 13-year employee of Ammons. "But you just didn't lie to him about anything. That was his rule. Don't lie to him."...

Separately, I hope Family Kingdom survives. These types of things are very difficult for small parks.
