"There are always those who are willing to pay for a premium experience, and that doesn't take away from the experience for everyone else.

....Want some good eats before getting scared at Cedar Point's HalloWeekends fest? For $50 per person, you can dine on lamb chops and lobster tail served by "creepy waitresses and gruesome waiters" in one of the park's haunted houses before they're opened to the rest of the public for the evening.

The depth and range of the park's Halloween offerings have grown exponentially in the 13 years it's been open for the holiday, said Robin Innes, spokesman for Sandusky-based Cedar Point.

"The driving force behind it originally was that we were looking for a good way to extend the season beyond Labor Day," Innes said. "We'd seen that some other parks had started successful Halloween events, and saw that overall, people were spending more money on the holiday.

"What we did the first year doesn't even compare to today. HalloWeekends has become one of the most important parts of our season. It's not just icing on the cake."...
