Sounds like someone is trying to do some fast cash-raising...

Meanwhile, VIP pricing at KBF is now $250 AN HOUR, minimum four hours, 1-6 guests. This does NOT include admission, which is an additional fee.

The way I see it, Knott's is trying to compete with Six Flags. Magic Mountain isn't exactly far from them, and they charge the same rate for an annual pass. The platinum pass is a corporate-wide price, which basically tells me that Cedar Fair puts the price on that, and lets the individual parks determine their respective park's season pass pricing.
