The Interpreter
...Last year, the line of hopeful workers snaked out the door, as hundreds of teens looking for summer work waited alongside unemployed workers seeking something to tide them over until they could find a higher-paying job. This year, perhaps because of Friday night's snowstorm, the crowd was thinner. The park also hires a number of international employees each summer from 16 to 20 different countries including France, Poland, Bulgaria, Columbia, Ecuador, Thailand and Malaysia. Employees 16 and older start at $7.30 per hour, while younger workers start at $7.25 per hour.He said he did not know how many foreign workers will be hired compared to local workers, but noted that last year there was so much local demand for jobs that Cedar Point hired fewer international workers.... Cedar Point's next day of open interviews will be 5-8 p.m. Feb. 26 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 27. Braves0511
This almost makes me feel bad for taking one of those jobs last year, even though I'm from Indiana...and I just submitted my application for this year, albeit a little late, I'm hoping that doesn't affect my chances too much...
