coasterguy15
So I left for Kings Island around 3:50 and got to the entrance at 4:00. I rode with my friend who had to work, so I was going to stay till close and leave with him. I decided to go up the Eiffel Tower first to get a view of the park and develop an idea of the crowd level. I went back down and headed towards DB. On my way there, I saw some fellow sweeps doing their thing (I am a sweep btw) and watching those big luminous clouds in the distance (shudder). DB was a 40 minute wait so that was a no-go. Crypt was out the cave so no on that. Beast had multiple switchbacks open and full so negatory on that too. I decided to go to X-base to get my first credits of the year on FoF and FH. I hopped in line for FoF and waited maybe 30-40 minutes for that. I must say, the ride was a lot of fun. Plus, by being a single rider, I sat next to a Kings Island first-timer. What a fun experience hearing them exclaim at the different aspects of the spaghetti bowl, too funny . So I walk out of the building and it's sprinkling a little bit. I check FH and it's closed of course, so I walk towards The Racer. Thats closed (go figure). I decided to go back to DB because thats all I was in the mood for, no AZ today. On my way over there, the rain really picks up and I'm starting to get soaked. So I finally get to DB after a long walk and you will never guess what DB was doing. Nothing! Uggh. So now that all of my options were shot, I went to get some pizza and fries. Tasting good as usual. I walked outside after finishing my meal and it was a flat out downpour. Geez! So I wait it out for 10-20 minutes and the rain becomes a sprinkle. I go back to DB and a little line is forming at the entrance. I quickly hop in, even though the ride was showing no activity. Soon enough one of the trains is put in the shed for rain mode (so I had hoped). But once the train was in, the clouds just unloaded on us. I was soaked to the bone and quite cold. Despite this though, I waited out the rain until it was back under control. THEN came lightning and thunder. I'm assuming the big guys in the offices had had enough and they decided to close the park around 7:45 before the weather got worse. Yep, no DB for me. Only 2 credits on the day of 4ish hours. O well, gotta have a poor visit some time or another. I still love the park and all the people in it. It's probably my favorite place to be at any time. But the rain just kind of screwed up this trip.
