PKI Addict
I will be attending PKI on the last weekend of the season. I moved about 750 miles away so I haven't visited since opening day last year. I was just wondering what changes have been made and any new additions that I need to know about that I will want to do. BoddaH1994
Delirium stands on the grave of the old King Cobra. It's a Huss giant frisbee. Pretty much everyone agrees that it's a blast. It's not extrmeley thrilling, but it's a really fun ride. Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle is in the same building where Phanton Theatre used to be. It's an interactive ride in which you hop in the old Phantom Theatre cards and shoot cardboard cutouts with a laser gun that doesn't shoot straight. Not my favorite ride in the park, but give it a shot if you like Scooby Doo. The ride gets mixed reactions. Two new noteworthy resteraunts are, in Oktoberfest, where the old Beer Gardens used to be now stands Bubba Gumps Shrip Shop. Obviously it's a seafood place with a Forest Gump theme. A lot of people on here seem to like it. The other is Manderian (sp?) Cusine on International Street. It's an Oriental resteraunt right there in PKI. It easily has some of the best food I've ever eaten at an amusement park. Have fun at the park! If you're interested, there's a construction walkback for Boomerang Bay meeting at the FestHaus on the 2nd at 3:00. -Ryan
PKI Homey
You may want to check out Delirium, a new giant huss ride. There are great pictures located on this site.
CYoung2003
Dont forget Subway! Gotta love the subs!
DegenRider
The parks Subway franchise is a far cry from a decent one. Go down the road a bit and get a decent one. Kinda like my advice for Skyline or Larosas.
coasterrz
Yes, the Subway at PKI, which sits on the former location of the Sweet Tooth Ice Cream shop, is not exactly like a real Subway. Having worked there for a day when I volunteered at the park. (Luckily I was there on the Friday before labor day, so it wasn`t really crowded.) PKI`s subway only has two types of bread (white or wheat) and two types of cheese (American or provalogn). Also, they don`t have meatballs. Also, they only have 6 inch subs. Actually one time I ate at the Skyline in Coney Mall, and I had the best Skyline 3-way I`ve ever had. The worker put noodles then the traditional chili followed by cheese. However, the worker that day added another scoop of chili on top of the cheese and dumped more cheese on top of the additional chili. Very tasty 3-way indeed. I would recommend leaving the park to get food because it is cheaper outside of the park and you get free refills.
Beastfreak
Do you really expect a sub place in an amusement park to have every option that you can get at a real Subway. The guests already take forever to decide what they want, it would take them even longer then and the lines would get even longer. Food in amusement parks is generally fast food, the idea to get people through the line quicker so they are happy and can get to the next ride line faster. Other than that, the food is the exact same you find at Subway, heck it has to be or Subway would probably sue us.
DegenRider
The ones in kentucky Kingdom are better actually. That or I caught them on a good day
coasterrz
Actually when I was volunteering there, there was a Subway official doing an inspection to make sure everything was up to subway`s standards. I worked it on a very empty day and there was still a line for a couple hours. My uncle who had volunteered at the same stand on a bring a firend free day said that the line stretched all the way across the midway. Its not very fast to peel off cheese and meat when wearing plastic gloves!
