Well - we'll see how this works out. There were about 25 KICers at Holiwood Nights last weekend and to date only one Trip Report from Avatar. In addition, the comments on Facebook seem to indicate that there isn't a lot of motivation to write up a report - although many have said they'd reply to someone else who wrote one.

So here goes - an attempt at a Progressive Photo Trip Report - all attendees are welcome to add a few memories, thoughts, photos, and/or funny stories from the trip here. A few thoughts from me first, then a couple of pictures.

Favorite parts of the event:

  • Meeting, hanging out, and riding with some great people that I've met through this site. Honestly, for me the park experience was enhanced by spending time and getting to know people - whether better or for the first time.
  • The walkbacks - especially Voyage. I've never been on a behind the scenes tour before and getting such a different perspective (up close and personal) was amazing
  • Night rides in absolute darkness. WOW - the out of control feeling on those coasters when you are flying through the track late at night without even the moon to light your way was unbelievable. Be it the speed, the laterals, or the airtime - it felt faster, more forceful, and longer on Saturday evening!

Funniest/Most bizarre part of the event:

  • Finishing our ride on Bakuli and hearing the story of why we were delayed from Nick, Ryan, and Mitchell. I'll let them elaborate.

My opinions on the ERT rides/park:

  • Voyage - not much can be said that hasn't already been said. The best coaster I've been on in my life.
  • Legend - great laterals, although a little too many for my liking.
  • Raven - incredible ride with nice varied elements.
  • Wildebeest - a lot of fun, but I wouldn't wait as long as you'll have to on a hot day.
  • Park - wonderful park with amazing people who run it. We were provided with a fantastic time. I'll be going back and taking the family.

A couple of my favorite walkback pics (taken with my iPhone so not the highest quality!)

Nice trip report! I commend you for taking the time to write it. I saw what you mean on Facebook...it doesn't look like most of the KIC'ers are thrilled to take the time to write one up...but in their defense I don't really blame them...if you look at how many replies a TR gets as opposed to the views it gets depressing...what is so hard about throwing on a comment after someone writes up a whole report? I try and leave at least some comment on each report I read.

Thanks again! smile.gif

Keith I truly enjoyed spending some quality time with you and getting to know you better, I enjoyed our conversations and your opinions on life in general. I really enjoyed seeing your reaction to so many of your firsts, like coasters and walk-backs. I would like to share with you a picture of you right before your first ride on Voyage. I just wished I had a picture of you as we came into that final break-run. enjoy

Hey thats me in your last picture haha I was videotaping. I had alot of fun at HWN, I was so excited to hanging out with old friends and make some new. I love how I have connection with both the waterpark and HW's coasters.

Raven: I feel like it's a junior coaster having a temper tantrum.

Legend: I love the Lat's on it. Have you noticed that it has a Helix very similar to Beast!

Voyage: Crazy gooood! My favorite spot is the pop of air and Lat to the left right before the first 90 with a close second fav being the triple drop after the mid course.
