TR: July 21-22, 2010

Our day began at 10am. It was HOT and downright humid. We walked to Diamondback and the line was pretty much non-existent. Less than 10 minutes later, we were on our way up the first hill. Green train rocks my socks. We managed to snag that train every time this trip. Since the line wasn't long at all, we rode 3 more times, then decided to move on through the park. From Diamondback, we went over to The Beast. Walk-on to the 3rd seat. Our morning ride was excellent. From there, we walked over to Vortex. Once again, walk-on. We tried out seat 5-1. I'm a convert! It was a great ride from that seat. Spongebob 3D was closed (we wanted indoors, it was hot and humid!) so we walked to X-base. We didn't have small bills or change with us for the locker, so we decided to ride Racer. Only the Red side was operating, so we walked on to the fourth row. I forgot that my sunglasses were on my shirt, I quickly remembered after the first hill. Something hit the floor, I looked down and there they were, so I secured them with my feet. The hubby helped with his feet too. Kept them in place until the ride was over and grabbed them. My sunglasses now have a small Racer battle scar After a great ride on Racer, we walked over to Adventure Express. Walk-on to the front seat. I love that little coaster. Excellent ride.

By this time I'm starting to get hungry. The BBQ in front of Outer Hanks looked so very tempting, but we wanted to ride some more first. So, we hit up Delirium. The line for it was 15 minutes at the most. Excellent ride, much smoother and higher (I do believe) than earlier in the season. After that, we decided to take a bit of a break. So, Stunt Grill called our name. Had an excellent hot dog and waffle fries. We enjoyed the nice cool seating area. Didn't want to leave, but Flight Deck was calling our name. The line was maybe 5 minutes. We went straight to the backseat. My husband and I took a picture and got photobombed by the kid behind us...I laughed Our Flight Deck ride was wonderful. We had a good laugh at the woman and kid in front of us. The kid kept saying "Just wait until I tell Daddy how much you screamed!" hehehe

Drop Tower was next on the agenda. This was probably our longest wait. Right around 30 minutes. Well worth it though. We checked out Invertigo from the top, it ran without anyone on it once, and never ran again the rest of the day. So, we crossed that off of our to-do list. From Drop Tower, we walked over to Snoopy on Ice, hoping to get a little relief from the heat. No show today. Boo. So, we walked over to Planet Snoopy to ride the ride formerly known as Avatar . We were placed in the middle, not my favorite spot, but the breeze was nice. It was blazing hot, so we wanted indoors. Boo Blasters it is. This time, we purchased the 3D glasses. I loved it! My husband beat my score though. Boo hehe. After that, we needed some water. I got myself a large blue ice cream. On the way to the ice cream stand, Peppermint Patty took an interest in us. So she grabbed my husband's hat and turned it sideways then pulled me over for a hug. We have 2 great pictures of that, thanks to the woman with her.

Sign, Sealed, Delivered was minutes away from starting, so we had seat in the middle row and enjoyed. Great show! I believe that is the first show I've taken in there. I rarely stop riding to take in shows, but it was so hot. My husband decided he wanted a Frappuccino, so we went to Starbucks. I got my usual White Chocolate Mocha (hot! yeah I know I'm weird drinking coffee when it's hot). While enjoying our drinks, we noticed Don't Stop the Music was beginning, so we went out there to enjoy the show. Looked around and noticed Mr Don Helbig and a photographer. The show was excellent. My husband said he liked Don's haircut..hehe...they share the same barber apparently.

After the show, we went up in E.T. and enjoyed a nice breeze. While up there, 2 little boys were escorted down for spitting. They were right beside of us spitting towards the Starlight Spectacular side. I can only imagine how mad the parents were when they found out (they were not with the boys up there). From ET we went to the fountain and sat at a table. It was just miserably hot and humid. We sat there and people watched for a while. That's almost as fun as the rides lol. Unfortunately, the hotter it gets, people tend to lose clothing...and dignity. I needed eye bleach many times. Have some respect for crying out loud. My eyeballs were assaulted.

We sat there until Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular began. If you haven't been for this, you should go. It's beautiful!

I wanted to get in a night ride on The Beast, but we were right at ET again, and I wanted to see the fireworks from there, as well as SSS. So, we went back up on the tower and stayed there until closing. I loved the fireworks from up there! After the show, we headed back to the hotel where we slept peacefully.

At 8am, we were up and ready to go back to the park. We were not aware that Diamondback was running for ERT since it wasn't on the website, so we got in 1 ride before the park opened at 10. We were going to ride again, bu the line formed all the way out past the ice cream shop. No thanks. We decided to hit up the coasters we didn't ride the day before, so we were Stunt Coaster bound. No line, so we walked on to row 3. Great little ride, could've done without the heat lol. I told my husband they should change that scene to an avalanche and have snow and ice go up in the air. X-base was next on the agenda. This time we brought change. We waited around 30 minutes for Firehawk. We had the last row. I learned a lesson that day. Do not keep the superman pose while barrel rolling. You might just cause yourself to get a sore shoulder the next day. Or maybe I'm just getting old. Regardless, the ride was fantastic.

Outer Limits...er, I mean Flight of Fear was next. The line was out past the que, so we waited. In the blazing sun. Did I mention it was hot?? Once we got through the door, we didn't care if the wait was 5 hours, we would have enjoyed it haha.. We rode the last seat. Our wait was around 45 minutes total. The park was getting very crowded. From there, we walked over to see if Invertigo was running. It was not. So, we rode Delirium again. This time, we waited 30 minutes. Excellent ride. Too bad people can't remember their seat number. Someone tried to take my husband's seat as he was placing our things in the bin. I explained that was his seat number. They said "Well, we are 42 and 43." I replied "Ok, this is 48 and 49......" I am not sure what happened, but the kid in seat 50 had to get up and go behind the gate, we had to all unlock and move down a seat so they could get in. They ended up taking seats of the people next to me. That didn't go over well. At all. I heard some choice words said.

Drop Tower was next. The wait was right around 35 minutes. Once again, great ride. I took everything in as we were at the top. This time, I didn't hold on. Nice little air time on that ride. The park was full of groups (we seem to go every time a bunch of groups decide to visit) so we were on our way for one last ride on Diamondback. It was almost noon and I had to be at class in 5 hours, and we were four hours away. As we walked by the Viking Fury, we noticed no line, so we walked on and rode. For whatever reason, that particular ride made my husband queasy. After that, we made our way to Diamondback, but not before getting myself a cup of ice water. I could feel my heart beating in my face I was so overheated. I do not sweat, so when I get hot, it gets really bad. 3 cups of ice water later, I was in line. Row 3, green train. We were happy. Green train is our favorite. Apparently, we were riding with someone famous. Not sure who he was, but the guy with him couldn't fit in the seat (they were in front row) and the guy in front of us begged to ride in that seat. They unlocked us all and let him up there. I couldn't figure out what was going on until after we got off the ride. Everyone was running up to the guy asking him to say hi to them and take pictures. I still have no idea who the man was, but he made some little girl's day by saying hi. She grabbed her cell and called someone with OMG OMG OMG OMG hahah. (upon further inspection, I'm pretty sure it was either Fanene or Peko from the Bengals) We bid Diamondback a fond farewell until Labor Day.

After that, we had to go. The park was really filling up and quite honestly, I'm glad we were going. I do not like crowds. Anyways, we had an excellent trip and I can't wait to return. I can't believe we can only visit two more times this year. Boo. Here are a few random pictures from our trip:

I figured football player just by his build. Once I checked the roster, I narrowed it down. Couldn't remember much about his face, but I saw his arm tattoo the entire ride up in the air. And he had hair about 8 inches long in a braid.
