KIC: The positives

Recommended Posts

Some recent posts and topics about KIC got me thinking. As is often the case, the discussions were about what is wrong. My thoughts took me a different direction and reminded me that there is a lot of good and positive things in this community. A few examples:

- Coasting for kids: I know/saw several KIC'ers donating to others

- Posts about difficulty in ones life: It is easy to see/feel the support in the responses

- Topics requesting help: There is always a good answer to be had

- Friendships: Whether they've become live or stayed online, there are many new friends to be had through KIC

All in all, even though I miss some former contributors who have left due to some of the arguments, I have to admit that I'm glad to be here and think they are the ones missing out.

It's easy to discuss topics other than Kings Island, which is another problem with a lot of forums. Most people never post in the off-topic section but many do here.

The people here aren't 2Dimensional. There's more to a person than their screen-name. Basically what I'm saying is that people on here aren't afraid to show their personality. This is an actual community rather than just a place to post stuff like a lot of other forums. Of course there's going to be disagreements, but that's because we're all human here.

I've got two reasons (among others) that have made being a member of this site fantastic:

1) The KIC event two years ago at the park

2) The "Winter Blues" event

If you were at any of those events, I don't have to tell you anything, and if you weren't you definitely missed out!
