KICoasterGirl
Day Seven July 8th: Astroland Driving from Lake Compounce into NYC and to Coney Island. We got to Coney Island at 9:30 and bought our eight dollar tickets to ride the Cyclone! Cyclone's train is even more couchlike than the Millennium Flyer trains. They literally have 5-6 inches of padding. Nice pics of Cyclone! Ride Info Cyclone is a good wooden coaster that is a lot longer than we thought it would be. Cyclone costs $8 to ride with $5 rerides, so for the five of us it was $65 to ride one coaster twice! First you ride and then when you come back into the station they ask you whether or not you want to reride and then you get priority seating so Dad and I jumped into the front seat for our second lap. Also, have reride money ready, even if you're not sure you want to reride, so when you come back into the station it's easy to reride. Rides We Rode Coney Island Cyclone Day Seven July 8th: Luna Park As most people know Luna Park reopened on Memorial Day Weekend under the management of Zamperla, all of the rides in this park are of Zamperla manufacture. Luna's entrance. After getting our ticket card we headed to Air Race. Air Race is an awesome flat that you can't ride anywhere else because it's a prototype at the moment! Dad, Katy and I on Air Race. Mom and Adam on Air Race. Air Race basically revolve in a circle with arms coming off of it that swing side to side and flip over. It's really cool to see the rest of the park with the lights at night upside down! Having an Air Race back in X-Base would be really cool! After all five of us rode we went to the Tickler, their spinning mouse coaster. We went to the Circus Coaster next but I don't have any pictures of it. We still had $10 left on our Luna Card so Dad and I rode the Brooklyn Flyer, which is similar to a Star Flyer. The ride op gave us one ride free which means we ended up having $5 dollars left on our card, so if we ever go back it will still have money on it! The view from Brooklyn Flyer is amazing! When we went over to the vendor that has the Wonder Wheel it turns out they had just closed, so we didn't get to ride! Ride Info If you come to Luna you must ride Air Race it is far to EPIC of a flat to not ride. Brooklyn Flyer offers a great view, especially at night, not to mention it goes up around 125 feet in the air! The coasters are not the best rides at this park but they are still good rides. Rides We Rode Brooklyn Flyer Air Race Circus Coaster The Tickler We came! We Rode! We Left! This ends our NYC experience. Note: I will have two videos up tomorrow!
