For those of you who read my last TR about Cedar Point, you will know that I have already been once this year, with 4 visits in that trip. Well I, Jasper, will make a return to Cedar Point as kind of a birthday trip. I will be leaving at about noon on the 15th (Sunday), and returning sometime on the 18th (Wednesday). I am hoping the crowds have went down a little bit with everyone being back in school and everything but none the less I am looking forward to another great trip to America's Roller Coast. Stay tuned for a TR to follow my return.

I wish I could have gone to CP on my birthday the 5 of July, but that didn't happen. I remember hearing the last week of Aug was the best time to go, but not so any more the word has gotten out and now it's just as packed as any other week during Aug, plus the park is under staffed.

Hope you have fun up there. :D

I was at CP yesterday (Thurs. Aug. 12th). While the park was busy, it was not as busy as when I last visited in the end of July. Rides like Gemini and Mean Streak were a walk on later in the evening. Skyhawk had a two rotation wait. As usual, popular coasters like Millennium Force had a long line.

Man I guess since I've only been to CP once, I never new how long the lines usually are. When I went in June, (same dates as Millennium) there were absolutely NO lines half the time. Our max wait was 45 min. for TTD on the second day. The first day our longest line was like 20 min for Maverick.

But Jaspar, I hope you have fun and the lines are small

Just returned earlier today from The Point, again. We arrived on a Sunday and got to ride Millennium Force and that only due to the weather. We ot stopped about where the train let's the guests exit, waited about an hour for the weather to clear, and then they resumed operation. After that we attempted to get in line for Mantis as it was almost to the stairs, then the rain started. I don't think we could have gotten any wetter jumping in Lake Erie, so one night down, one ride on Milly, and a soaked car ride to Chet and Matt's to eat a great pizza meal.

On Monday we arrived at the park for the tail end of ERT and were able to catch a walk on ride for Raptor, which in my opinion is a very underrated coaster, even though it usually averages an hour and a half line. We then walked to TTD and waited on it to open and waited maybe 20 minutes if that. Then the crowds hit. Waited about and hour and a half for Maverick and about 30 minutes for......Mean Streak, yes I know don't break your monitor throwing things at me. We then went out of the park to eat and came back to ride Magnum, Wicked Twister, Power Tower, and Mantis. Mantis actually gave me a decent, pain free ride for once and really climbed up on my top coasters list. We also got in line for STR and we got to the very front of the line about to go in the station and it broke down, so we sit there and waited for about an hour and a half for the ride to open back up. I was wearing a Top Gun shirt and a boat captain on Paddlewheel went by us 3 times singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and pointing at me every time, priceless.

On our last day at the park, Tuesday, we started off with a ride on Maxair, Disaster Transport, and Wicked Twister. Seeing as we got there late we started to get hungry so we wanted some food, we decided to leave and go to Subway, but before we left we hit Power Tower 2 more times, once on each side, they are both very good rides and I can't choose which one I like better. When we returned we walked to the Beach Gate and got our tickets to go Para sailing. I got the super deluxe package and got 800 feet of towline and a 14 minute ride. IT was simply amazing. I was seriously scared to death but having the time of my life. I would do it again in a heartbeat, it was cool to see a view of the point that most people will never get to see for themselves. I am so glad I decided to do it and it was a birthday present from my friends I went with. We entered the park and walked to the back to catch a ride on Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Snake River Falls Twice. Gemini was closed and so was Skyhawk so no rides on those. We then went and got in line for Milly and took an amazing night ride, and then immediately got in line for TTD before the park closed. We ended up getting in line at 9:15 and getting on at 11:00. The ride broke down as we got to the last set of queues and they launched a rain that went about 76 mph and made it barely up to the white track before coming back down. So me and my friend decided to wait for the front, as we had already waited this long. Sadly, they cut the operations short and we had to pick an empty seat or not ride. I still enjoyed my last ride and my time at The Point again.

Overall it was a great trip. Only got to ride Maverick once, and Magnum twice, but other than I had a lot of first time experiences like night rides on Milly and TTD, and Para Sailing. It was pretty crowded and rides were down a lot and that made lines lot longer. Gemini only opened both sides one time the whole trip, and Skyhawk was not open at all the second day but only had one side operating the rest of the time. Seemed like everything was out to get us and break down, but I guess that's just roller coasters for you. I will end with this, if you want to go on vacation, you HAVE to GET TO THE POINT!!

That is standard operation, after park close you will get to ride (except for weather or serious mechanical issues) however you are NOT guaranteed your selection of seat. Ride ops would like to go home as quickly as possible and not send out extra trains.

I have had to do the same for The Beast before, so when we were waiting I figured they would do that as well.
