Great Adventure to add new roller coaster

Featured Replies

And interestingly, there was absolutely no mention of "standing-up," or being a "stand-up" coaster (which is typically a standing-coaster's real selling point, and the thing that marketing just can't say enough about)...

Perhaps things are CHANGing more than we thought?

We shall see :).

I'm going to doubt that this isn't Chang. 121 foot tall loop, dive loop, and inclined loop are identical to Chang. Not to mention the 154 foot tall height and 63 mph speed.

Maybe they're saving the fact that this is a stand-up until they start advertising on a bigger level.

I think GYK was referring to the possibility of Change/Green Lantern being converted into a sit down coaster.

I too found it very interesting that they didn;t mention it being a stand up coaster but my first and lasting thought was that stand ups were a fad and probably don't have the drawing power that other types do.

David, who does not pretend to understand what the general public thinks of stand up coasters... and also loves Mantis (that's right, Mantis) as long as I'm on the left side and especially a few rows from the backwink.gif

Go to Great Adventure's site. They already have information up about it. If anyone is wondering, the answer is yes: there are some CHANGes coming to SFGA.

I hope that the "Green Lantern" has been restored to CHANGe the way it looks.

Har har har! Oh Terp...

According to the Six Flags link shared above, Green Lantern "delivers a ride experience unlike any other"

I'd be willing to bet that the ride experience is somewhat like what Chang used to offer.

But that wouldn't be an other ride experience, now would it? Just the same one, different place? But if you don't buy that, then it is an other experience, right? So, either way, the statement is correct.

Unlike the coaster count...for some reason they don't want to say 13?

13 -1 +1 = 13. At least it did when I was in school.

But they say 12...

Unless, of course, something else is going to disappear soon...

I'm going to take an educated guess and say that "an experience like no other" is aimed towards people who may not know that the new coaster is Chang.

I do dig the new green track, though. cool.gif

And towards people that have never ridden Chang. The ride was a short trip up the interstate from me and I have never even seen it, lol.

Hopefully, one day that will changE.

Terp, never one to tire of bad puns...oh, wait...I hear the rolling thunder...

Perhaps the Ultimate Blight in the same area? :)
