willis644
Can anyone shed some light on the nature trails that (I believe) used to exist in the back corner of Rivertown, next to the Crypt and The Beast lift hill? When I worked at the park, we used to wander back there, and there are still remnants of the paths (guard rails, a bridge over a ravine, etc). However, I've never heard anyone talk about the trails, and can't find any proof that they existed on old park maps. Anyone?
RaptorGuy
There was a nature trail that went down behind The Beast. It's now closed off as an employee area. Diamondback pretty much goes over and around most of the area where that was. I walked down it maybe 3 times total in my life. It had a really good hill to climb, and you could go down by the creek. You could also see The Beast track from there. I think it might have appeared on the maps in the mid 1970's.
DeLorean Rider
In 2007 most of the remnants of the small fence that lined the pathway was there, one very unsafe bridge was there (though we crossed it from time to time), and a few other rails and guide markings were there. However as far as I understand, it is all now gone with the addition of Diamondback.
