Columbus coasternut
Here's the deal my family and I are going to purchase season passes this year Pki's website doesn't say anything about gold passes Can someone please explain to me what this Gold Pass is all about? Thanks
DegenRider
Gold Passes allow special ERT and discounts. Usually here soon they will advertise a free goldpass upgrade if you buy before may 18th or something. Gold pass has many perks such as Early Ride time. Breakfest with the Characters and other stuff. Also priority concert seating. Perks change by the year though. I would wait a bit longer as around the end of the month the media blitz will start. CoasterKrazy
I ordered and received my pass ticket quite a few weeks ago and it says "GOLD" in the top left hand corner, so it might be safe to say that, now at least, all passes sold are Gold Passes. coasterville
Last year, PKI offered few different perks, designed to encourage you to process your pass as soon as possible. If you processed your pass before Labor day, you got the free parking and the free gold pass upgrade. If you processed your pass aftr labor day, but before the end of the season, you got the free parking, but had to chip in $5 extra if you wanted the gold pass upgrade. Now, traditionally, the park only sells gold passes during pre-season (I would not consider it a free gold pass upgrade, as IIRC correctly they charge the same price as the gold card price was in the fall, remember prices go up after park close of the year prior) Then after Memorial Day, I think, Gold Pass goes away, even as an upgrade option. Personally, I think the $30 free parking pass you get for a fall renewal is worth more than the gold pass upgrade, but since I renwed before LDW I got both anyway. stephenmayes
Definitly worth it! The perks alone really dont help you out on every visit. The things like early ride times, breakfast with charachters, and Bring a friend free day are only on a few certain days througout the year. So if you just randomly come then it really doesnt help you very much. But if you plan your visits accordingly they gold pass can really be helpful! Steve How could I forget my favorite Gold Pass Perk, Two for tuesdays!! or whatever...riding a ride twice is quite nice!!

BoddaH1994
Yeah, don't be that guy who thinks he's going to go to the front of the line every time with a Gold Pass... it simply doesn't work that way. There are stipulations, such as certain days have certain perks on certain rides... things like that. For example, last year they had "Two for Tuesday" in which you would be able to ride twice on SOB (in a certain seat) if you presented your gold pass. It's kind of a pain in the butt to deal with, but it's also fun (heck, you get two rides for the cost of one wait!) While we're on the subject, did they have Two For Tuesday for any rides besides SOB and Face/Off last year (please jog my memory). -Ryan
