nrage
Hi, I'm new to posting but a long time visitor in the forums. Does anyone know if there are any Roller Coaster magazines published that can be purchased on news stands (or can be obtained more quickly than a 4-6 week turnaround)? I am working on a project for school and wanted to use roller coaster enthusiasts as the subject, but to do so, I need a magazine to show that there is a method of communication in print media. If anyone knows a store that carries a magazine I can purchase, I would be grateful for the info. Thanks!
The Interpreter
At one time, Amusement Business would have been available on big city newstands...but it is no longer published at all (it had the same publisher as Variety at the end). Nowadays, Amusement Today is the big player left, run by Gary Slade in Texas. It is available on the web and in print, but not on any newstand outside of at the IAAPA trade show in Orlando later this month. And that's it...the web has decimated the glossy mag business in most, but not all, specialized fields...Amusement Today is more of a newspaper, and it is focused on the park industry, not just coasters. If you call Gary's office, I am sure they can mail you a copy. http://www.amusement...om/contact.html
