KIfan1980
There have been several topics/posts on this site about ways to get involved in the theme park industry . Looks like some Ohio State Engineering undergrads took the approach to create a unique (at least I've never come across one before) student organization to help them with their goals. See the website for the Ohio State Theme Park Engineering Group that was created by students in 2007 (sorry if this has been posted in the past - I searched and couldn't find). I came across this from an article in my wife's recently delivered alumni magazine (can't find an electronic link to that).
Ride On_17
I know this is an old topic but decided to bring it back. I really want to join this group if I end up going to Ohio State. It seems like such a cool thing to be involved with. I've never heard of any other group like this at other schools. Has anyone else?
TTD-120-420
Penn St has a similar group.
TombRaiderFTW
At least in terms of what they have posted online, Penn State's TPEG seems to do more with manufacturers and parks directly. One of their projects over the 2012-2013 school year involved working on Sky Rocket at Kennywood. They're also responsible for the (as of last weekend, partial) restoration of the headlights on the front of Kennywood's Thunderbolt's trains. Haven't gotten a chance to see them in action yet, so someone really ought to post a video of them if they find one/get the opportunity to film them.
