CNL Lifestyle Properties, Inc., owners of Darien Lake Theme Park Resort and Elitch Gardens, and Herschend Family Entertainment (HFE), the nation's largest family-owned theme park corporation, jointly announced today that HFE would assume the day-to-day management of both properties starting January 25, 2011.

Hopefully they spruce up DL a little bit.

Maybe they will also teach there employees at DL, what its like to be friendly too. This past summer i went there for the first time and and didnt even stay the whole day do too the rudeness of everyone employee that I came into contact with. I hope the do something there..

I'd like to see how Herschend would run Kings Island. To me, they seem like they'd do a good job.

Sorry, I know that's slightly off-topic...

Wait just a minute. Herschend is NOT acquiring these properties, they are merely going to manage them (for now):

... HFE will become the management company for all properties; CNL Lifestyle Properties remains the owner. ...

Edit: Topic title now corrected. Thanks!

I haven't been to Darien Lake yet but I hear that they wont accept Debit or Credit cards at there food stands. Hope this changes if I visit this year.
