StXBomber
When PKI opened SoB, they won the title of park with the most wooden rollercoasters. PKI will still have this title, but Big Chief Mount Olympus will join PKI in that title in 2005. Each park will then have 4 wooden coasters. http://www.rcdb.com/document110.htm (And our Racers count as one coaster since they are mirror images.) coasterdime
PKD also has 4 Rebel Yell Grizzly Hurler Scooby Doo (or whatever they're calling it) Still, pretty good record to share.
RyanA
I think we still have the record for the most wooden coaster track.
fryler87
This is true, I added up (yay for me) and got ABOUT 22612 feet of wooden track, give or take a few inches...so do the math and that's ABOUT 4.282576 miles. (you divide it for yourself, the decimal really exists) Now, the Point up north has about 9, maybe 9.5 miles of total track, and that's a hell of a lot of coaster, but what's better than having the two parks with the most track in both categories in the same state?! StXBomber
We have the most WOODEN track, you prolly included steel also.
fryler87
The thing about the Point was total track in the park, the calculation for the Island was just for woodies. The Point has the most steel track in the world, and the most track (of both types). The Island has the most wooden track in the world. Koaster King
Sadly, you're wrong about some of these things. It's true that PKI has the most wooden track of any park in the world and that they are tied with PKD, Big Chief (will be in 2005 anyways), and Hershey (Lightning Racer- Thunder and Lightning, Wildcat, Comet) with the most wooden coasters outside of Blackpool Pleasure Beach. They have 5 woodies including Grand National, Big Dipper, Roller Coaster, Wild Mouse, and Zipper Dipper. Of course, some people might count Rebel Yell and The Racer as two coasters, which would give PKI and PKD 5 and the record tied with Blackpool (who has a racing coaster, but it's on "one coaster track"). For those who need PKI to hold a record to claim them as one of their favorite or their home park, they still have most wooden coaster track, the longest, tallest, fastest, only looping wooden coaster record titles, most suspended/inverted coasters, most junior/kiddie coasters (tied with Wild Adventure), and possibly the most upcharge attractions of any major amusement park in the world. -Danny
