"I have studied the Cedar Fair portfolio for more than 20 years," said Ouimet, who was last in the Richmond region in the early 1990s as chief financial officer of Disney Development Co. trying to negotiate a deal for the proposed Disney America theme park in Northern Virginia.

"I always had, even when I was at Disney, a great respect for the quality of the operations and the quality of the experience of Cedar Fair," he said. "What I can tell you after 30 days is that what I saw from the outside is exactly what I have seen from the inside."
