Chris Rose: Six Flags (New Orleans) up for sale

Until this month, never, really.

But now Six Flags New Orleans is up for sale. Like a used car or riding mower, there it is: For Sale, world class amusement park. Great views, twenty-eight-and-a-half baths, access to interstate. Off-street parking.

A bargain at any price.

This only took how long? Lol. Six Flags had the chance to rebuild this park. But took the most easy way out any company could. Insurance could of helped rebuild a good chunk of the park. This is just jobs lost for 1,000's of people who are still looking to rebuild lives in that state after the hurricane in 2005.

A few months ago I was debating whether or not flying to New Orleans and renting a car would be cheaper than testing the abilities of my 11 year old Corolla to drive a full day to New Orleans and then back. The former SFNO property, like Chris Rose said (although somewhat stupidly), is still a destination - but more so for photographers seeking to document an abandoned, modern theme park. In the end, I abandoned the trip after talking with a few photographers from the area who suggested it really wasn't worth my time.

It's a shame that Katrina finally ended it, but selling it isn't going to happen. Six Flags took anything that was worth repairing or able to be repaired and left. Everything there is probably too far gone to be used anymore and the land is probably worth more than anything that sits on the property.

(wishful thinkin' here)i personally wouldnt mind havin' the giant jester head; or what ever is left of the dark ride...

As I have been told The former Six Flags New Orleans or JAZZLAND is up for sale by the city of new orleans whom owns the park. After hurricane katrina six flags abandoned the park and it has sat empty ever since, that is when the city took it over.

Are You Going To Buy?

I just looked over a boatload of pictures of the park the other day, to use in a comic book.

It's wild looking.
