It shows the Whirl of the Whirl at Coney Islands Luna Park. It reminded me so much of WindSeeker that I had to share. It too seems to have a pretty fancy light package :)

I Love Shorpy! I can lose a few hours once I start looking. It's a great reference library.

I always wonder about those old pictures on the beach, where people are fully dressed laying on the sand. That would be the most uncomfortable picnic ever.

Wow. That DOES really resemble WindSeeker...a lot. Then again, WindSeeker-type rides aren't that rare, only the 300' tall ones...but even that seems to be changing as more are built.
