DeLorean Rider
Obviously this is the year of the cicadas and I kno this has got some people all worried and want KI to do something about it but really what can they do. I kno a lady in the communications and she said she has had numerious calls from guests concerned with the cicadas this year. I dont know what these people want KI to do. Just talk about this, if you have any thoughts or input on the situation please post.
Losing Streak
i think we talked about this already. but i read somewhere that they aren't going to be so bad north of 275 because there's been so much construction there in the last 17 years. If they are bad, there's not too much to be done, I don't think.
DeLorean Rider
Yea even in KI alone, think about how much has changed since, well Vortex was put in. Wow thats a lot. I think probably the worst place will be back in the woods where The Beast is just cause its been really undisturbed. I could see someone on The Beast getting hit by a cicada while riding. LOL the next Fabio story
Losing Streak
If there's a lot of area in the park where they hatch, like say the entire woods, then the whole park will be blanketed... IIRC, it's something like 1 billion cicadas per acre. Sounds ridiculous, i know.

bradb055
Ok I know I replied to this once before, but no sweat, I'll reply again. According to a cicada expert at the college of Mt. St. Joe, the cicada's should not effect PKI too much at all. In fact he says "The most intense infestation will be west of 71. I'd be surprised if a place like (Paramount's) Kings Island got more than a few strays. But a place like the zoo, that was one of 1987's heaviest infestations." This was written in the Cincinnati Enquire a few weeks back. Here is the Link
PKI Homey
I have posted on this topic before, I think. Anyway, I don't see it as that much of a problem. CP gets bugs every year, and it really isn't anything to worry about. They are just a nuisance, nothing more. I don't think they bite humans either. Seems like I read something about them liking trees. Can't really remember.
