lebeau Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I think I read somewhere that Kings Island is usually pretty slow on the Bring a Friend Days (Mother's Day and Father's Day). Is that true? Thinking about getting the family together for one or both, but I don't want to if the place will be mobbed. Quote
beastfan11 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I don't think I have ever heard Bring a Friend Days described as slow. Quote
lebeau Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 I don't think I have ever heard Bring a Friend Days described as slow. It's possible I was misinformed. I found it hard to believe. Quote
jcgoble3 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I seem to recall hearing that they were slow as well, but I don't recall where I heard it from. It makes sense, because why would they need to offer discounted admission on a busy day when people will fill the park anyway? They've run bring-a-friend days in late August each of the last two years to try to get more people in the park; it seems that the same would be true here. Anyone (here) know for sure? Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 When they had "bring a friend free" days, they were the worst days ever. Almost wasn't even worth going to the park if you actually wanted to ride something. Not so sure about the discounted days. I'd imagine they're pretty bad though. Quote
lebeau Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 As we get closer to Mother's Day, I wanted to bump this. My extended family is thinking about going for Mother's Day. Has anyone been on the discounted Mother's Day? If so, was it busy? Thanks! Quote
KIfan1980 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Having been on a few Mothers and Fathers Days, with the $9.99 deal, they typically haven't been that bad line wise. Quote
segdog2 Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I've been searching for the announcement of the Mothers Day $9.99 deal and haven't seen it posted this year. If anyone has seen it advertised, please direct me to it. I have been to the park on bring a friend free day and it was packed! I have not been on bring a friend for $9.99. It would be helpful to hear from someone who's been to both the free and $9.99 days. I am hesitant on going on $9.99 days due to the horrible experience I had with the crowds on bring a friend free days. Thanks in advance for the help. My family would like to go this Sunday with Mom. PKIVortex Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Yes it's been announced, it's on the parks website under gold pass perks, it has has also been on the parks twitter page. Quote
RollerCoasterRoyalty Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 If the park was like it was last weekend and it didnt have a discount day, I can only imagine what it would be like this weekend. Also still have school groups to contend with as well. Quote

Some would say a Fast Lane pass would solve that issue now. Quote
RD Reynolds Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I went last year for Father's Day, and it wasn't bad at all. ~shrug~ Quote
lebeau Posted May 14, 2012 Author Posted May 14, 2012 I went last year for Father's Day, and it wasn't bad at all. ~shrug~ Good to hear. As rainy as it was, we skipped Mother's Day. My sister and her kids went and were miserable. So it sounds like we might try the family gathering at Father's Day. Quote
74Gibson Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 We canceled too. My trip to the Chicago Field Museum with nearly 4 yr old daughter, wife and her Mother was awesome! I hadn't been in years and it is so much better than I remember. I'm seriously impressed with how much my daughter learned and was able to talk about this morning too. Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 I remember the 'bring a friend free' days a few years ago, when I swear you could get in a couple games of ring toss while waiting in line for The Vortex. Yes, it's much less crowded these days, but moreso than usual. Quote
