dxrunner
So what year technically did it become Action Zone because last time i was in the park before i worked here (1996 or so) they had KC, Top Gun, and Congo Falls. I think thats all it had but, what was it called then, and what made PKI want to develop the area and change it ( SOB, Face off, Drop Zone, Delerium, etc.)
PKIguy14
Before 99 (the year it became the Paramount Action Zone) it was Adventure Village for a few years, not sure how many though. I think Congo Falls also used to be called Amazon Falls.
CYoung2003
Adventure Village featured Amazon Falls, Xtreme Skyflyer, XS Raceway, Top Gun, and King Cobra. 1999 hit and Action Zone was born. Drop Zone, Face/Off, Amazon was renamed Congo, XS Raceway was renamed Days of Thunder (not sure if it was then or before AZ) and then in 2000 Son of Beast came. SML828
Xtreme Skyflyer was actually called Drop Zone when it was first built. But the year before (if i remember right) they added Face/Off & Drop Zone (the tower) they changed the name to Xtreme Skyflyer. It took me a while to remember the name change and stop calling it Drop Zone.
Beastfreak
I don't think Congo Falls got its name change in the '99 season when Action Zone was first rethemed. I believe it stayed as Amazon Falls for a good year or two afterwards.
CYoung2003
Actually Amazon was changed to Congo in 1999. I remember it welll. Drop Zone was renamed Xtreme Skyflyer in 1997, because we were supposed to get a drop ride in 1997 and they were gonna call it Drop Zone but it didnt happen and they just kept the name Xtreme Skyflyer
