Beastfreak
Along with some of the new food stuff that I have mentioned before, all cakes are now made in house at the Bakery on International Street and sold through out the park. So instead of frozen cakes made in some huge factory or who knows where and shipped to the park, we are making them from scratch every morning. My question is.... Has anyone tried out new cakes this year? If so tell me what you think of them. If not, try some this weekend or the next time you go to the park. Beastfreak
I don't know, I've only had the chocolate cake with the white icing and cookie crumbles on the side. It was really good.
teenageninja
Sounds like our executive chef wants us to have the best food. I bet next year we will have tons of different choices, hopefully we'll get Oktoberfest Gardens food in the Festhaus.
italianchef
I ate at the park last Thursday (media preview day) and last Saturday. The desserts were great on Thursday! I ate chocolate moose, Delirium cake, and Scooby Doo cookies. And on Saturday I ate chocolate cake again. PKI offers great desserts. And I too hope that Festhaus will serve the brats and metts once served in Oktoberfest Gardens. After all, Festhaus is the only remaining German themed eatery in the park. coasterdime
Speaking of the Media Day Scooby cookies, I would pay for them on a regular business day! They were simple iced sugar cookies with a Scooby face, but were quite good. It would be good to sit on International Street, sip coffee and chomp a couple of these in the morning. Tanner
My favorite dessert at Media Day was the Pastries rolled in cinnamon and filled with cream cheese.
DragonLord
All the new cakes and pies at the French Bakery are wonderful! They are well worth the lines (if any) and the price isn't that bad.
Beastfreak
They are offered at more places than just the bakery. They are made at the bakery and served at the different stands.
TraderJake
I haven't tried the cakes yet, but I must make the comment that so far this year everything I have had at Oscar's was not half bad. I was extremely impressed with how the Pizza actually tasted like real pizza. Kudos to the Oscar's crew for providing unusually good food and best of luck to them in trying to keep it that way as full season approaches. Beastfreak
The pizza being better is because we are now using a real pizza oven like the other pizza stands. The kind with the conveyer belt that cooks them evenly. Not the old one were the door opened and you had to put the pizza in, which heated mainly on one side (wasn't so bad like in 98 when i worked in oscars) and burnt everything.
