italianchef
As some of you may know, the new version of PKIUnlimited will soon premier and I will have a column on it. I wrote a fictitious story based on Phantom Theater which will be available with the new site. I am now thinking about writing a fictitous story based on Adventure Express and its theming. The Tiki men and masks look Polynesian to me, the recording sounds English, and the music is from Raiders of The Lost Ark. If anyone has any ideas for my story - I would greatly appreciate them. And I hope that you will all enjoy my Phantom Theater story. It is probably different from what most of you would expect. Have a great day, Italian Chef Edited January 1, 1970 by italianchef
BoddaH1994
That's a good idea Charles! I'm PM you with my idea. I would suggest that anyone else who has any input do the same thing so we can have an element of surprise. -Ryan
CantStopCabron
This is one of those little five second ideas, but make it about a family that adventures to (insert tropical local here) and accidentaly stumbles upon some lost ruins of an ancient culture, and decide to explore it, only it turns out thay the ruins still lurk with the gods. I think that would be cool. Of course, now you have to do something totally different because it would look like you stole my idea if you used this. Crispy1979
I remember the year that Adventure Express opened (91) While waiting in Line they had bits of narration that somewhat described a theme or story. The voice was a British explorer type of accent.... you know the "Dr. Livingston, I presume" type of accent. But the narration describe "expeditions" to a newly discovered archeological find. I don't know if they still play the narration in line. I don't believe so. Cris
BoddaH1994
Another vague idea would be based off the announcement that the search and rescue mission for a lost train was abandoned. Maybe a story about where it went and what happened to it. Perhaps you could even have it about the ride as a ride. Like have kids going through the woods, and end up at it. I'm sure there is a story to be written there. I know that I'm going back on my earlier post by putting ideas on here, but maybe we can put "general direction" ideas on here and PM specific ideas to Charles. That way we can publicly express what we think is a good overall idea for the story.

I don't know if they still play the narration in line. I don't believe so. Yea there still there, and on usually all the time. Its random and theres like 7 different bits that come and go with the music. It talks about how track 2 has been closed 'indefinitley' due to the collapse of the bongo bridge. Before the first tunnel theres a sign saying 'Track 2 Closed'. And theres one about boarding the 'Trans-mountain run to outpost 5'. Look on the side of the SOB station as your entering line...it has a big 'Outpost 5' Painted on it. Coincedence??? I've always wondered. And theres another one that goes something about firearms needing to be checked as luggage. I used to have all of them memorized when i worked on the ride...as i'm writing this i'm kinda dissapointed i cant remember them word for word anymore. Crispy1979
Here's something odd I always found interesting.... Adventure Express is obviously themed to what was the "Wild Animal Safari" section of the park... and fit in with the theme of Amazon Falls, King Cobra, and the Wild Animal Habitat.... and on maps was listed as being in that section of the park. But from the beginning it always seemed a little out of place to me because to get to the line you didn't have to crosse into the Wild Animal Safari section of the park.... in fact, it was located just as you pass through the "Oktoberfest" sign in the former site of the Flying Dutchamn. So although the ride was listed as being in the WIld Animal Safari section of the park, it's always been that you entered from Oktoberfest. Now that the Wild Animal section has become "Action Zone" Adventure Express is listed on maps as being in Oktoberfest. Kind of out of place. italianchef
I would like to thank all of you for your ideas. Quite frankly, I can't wait until the new format begins so you all can read my Phantom Theater story. And I'm now on page 10 of a long story that places PKI's physical structures and unwilling colonists from around the globe on another planet. Once I'm done - I will write the Adventure Express story. If anyone should have more ideas......please tell me. Sincerely, Italian Chef
