DiamondAceExpress
Decided to take the kids to Kings Island on the day that was forecasted rain and storms all day. Husband wanted no part of it. Walked up to the gate at 10:30 and when we scanned our cards, the guy was really concerned that my name came up as Matthew and really didn't want us to get in. For years, the four of us have the wrong name come up on our passes. My son is "Lucy", etc. and in the dozens of times that we've entered the park before, nobody has cared, but this guy wouldn't let us in until he called his supervisor over who just told us to get it fixed when we get a chance. There was a light rain and after getting our photo taken, we walked to Diamondback which was pretty well empty. The only other person on our train was Beast Forever. We rode four times and in the rain it was rather brutal, had to cover our faces with the hoods on our jackets. My son, ohiocolts, then took off with Beast Forever, and Lucy and I did Boo Blasters, Backlot and Flight of Fear before going to Trick or Treat with those Dinosaurs. They let adults collect candy too! The dinosaurs were dressed up in costumes, which we thought was cute. We also collected an apple and ate those on our way to ride The Racer. Front seat because it's the best! Then we met Lucas at the FestHouse because he was hungry and didn't have any money. The Bengals game was starting and there were a handful of people in there watching it. Shared a plate of chicken tenders and fries with my girl (those chicken tenders are delicious!) and left before the Graveyard Shift show started. Another ride on BooBlasters and Diamondback on our way to HowlaPalooza. My daughter is 11 and really too big for a lot of the stuff there, but the best thing for us was the petting zoo. We saw the llamas, goats, ducks, silkie chickens, tortoise, kangaroo, etc. and fed many of them. We took the train back to the park and rode Diamondback another 5 times. The rain had been stopped for awhile and there was still hardly anybody in the park so we got to just stay on and ride to our heart's content. I was starting to wonder what Lucas was doing, so we got off Diamondback and as I went to check my phone, he was calling me. He said "Mom? Hi, it's Lucas." He sounded kinda funny, like he was in trouble or something. Then he said "I'm on stage. At the magic show." Then another voice said "Hi! This is the magician." I said "Is this Ed?" And sure enough, my son and Ed Alonzo were calling me together live from stage. Apparently, that show's audience was so small that the closest thing he could get to a willing young boy to be his assistant was my teenage son! It's a bummer that I missed seeing it, Lucy and I took another ride or two on Boo Blasters and then it was starting to rain. It was 4:00 and we stopped at Guest Services to get our names fixed on our passes and then we went home. Glad we went! The rain really wasn't too bad. We didn't wait in line for ANYTHING!
VortexBFForever
Glad you had fun! Wish I could've gone. 2 Questions for ya: Did you or Lucas ride Vortex and/or WindSeeker, by any chance? Did you ever walk by Vortex and notice if it was doing 2-train operation or the normal 3? I'll tell you now, if TurkishDelightBGW and I had made it to the park that day, you'd find me having a blast - marathoning Vortex as long as I could in the rain (decked out in my rain poncho on a day like that, of course!) would be pretty crazy!

Did you ever walk by Vortex and notice if it was doing 2-train operation or the normal 3? Ride Vortex in 7-1, was the only rider. It was on two train operation. I headed to WindSeeker, no trash can at the entrance, but was told it was closed due to wind.

I don't recall seeing WindSeeker going up at all! Question for YOU, VortexBFForever, if you had the opportunity, how many times in a row COULD you ride Vortex? Razzy and I rode Diamondback 21 times (yes I am quite proud) and for 2 of those we were the only riders. Yeah on Diamondback! I had either 10 or 11 rides on Diamondback, maybe I saw you? I don't know that we've met before. But yeah, that sure was a fun day!
thoe124
Me and my friend went and rode Diamondback 15 times in a row, FOF 7, AE 5, Invertigo 4, flight deck 1, Delirium 5, monster 2, scrambler 1, zephyr 1, Firehawk 2, beast 2, racer 1, boo blasters on boo hill 1, flying ace 2, Vortex 4, backlot 3, and some guy said he rode Drop Tower 47 times in a row! Also we got to: ride FOF with the lights on!!!!!!!!!, break FOF, have personal trains (one for me one for my friend) on AE for 5 rides, and get shot with a Bibi gun (rain) on Diamondback! Also we saw a funnel cloud in the east, and got stuck on DB's mcbr for 30 secs! It was great!!!
VortexBFForever
Question for YOU, VortexBFForever, if you had the opportunity, how many times in a row COULD you ride Vortex? I'd go for at least 20! My record right now is 18 rides, set on Sunday, October 14, 2012.
