Miracle Strip Amusement Park

Recommended Posts

Seeing in the Coney Island thread that their Trabant was being removed it instantly reminded me of Miracle Strip amusement park, although I have only been there twice, some of my strongest memories were on the Dante's inferno ride (Indoor Trabant), the abominable snowman (indoor Eli bridge scrambler), The Musik Express, and the dungeon (indoor tilt-a-whirl). Although it has been gone for some time it's memories remain very strong with me. I even vaugly remember a wooden coaster and the O2 tower their newest and final addition. It may have seemed nicer because of how young I was but it had a decent lineup for a beach amusement park, especially compared to those of today. I also remember how sad I was when mom told me it would be the last time I was visiting the park because it was going to close soon. What I want to know is if anyone on here shares memories at this once amazing small amusement park. Or what would happen if it were still open today (not counting miracle strip @ Pier Park.)

I don't remember traffic as I was either 7 or 8 the last time I went and I think we may have walked there because we stayed somewhere near it. It is just terrible that such a great park was ending for those condos which STILL have not happened.

I know, I think I had gone to the pavilion one time although I don't have memories of it like I do Miracle Strip. anymore when I go to the beach, all of the amusement parks there are very sub-par if there are any at all.

My parents had a house just outside of Panama City, and I visited the Miracle Strip many times. It was a fun little park, and the Starliner was a great little coaster, the first 2/3 of the ride was outstanding. Sadly it's been much longer since I walked the boards in Santa Cruz. But, in the almost 30 years since, I remember it fondly. The Giant Dipper is another great little coaster, and the entire experience of being there is not easily forgotten.

I don't remember much of the Starliner, other than it was white and had some sort of decorative tunnel. Maybe if this plan goes through ill ride it again. Only part I remember really was the curve into the station.
