upstop Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I hadn't heard of this project until today....and I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on this site...sounds like something exiting for Houston, Texas. http://grandtx.com/venues/grand-texas-theme-park/ http://houston.culturemap.com/search/?q=grand+texas&x=10&y=14 2 Quote
Dieseltech20 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Open in 2015? According to the pics on their FB page they have barely even started land clearing. It also says to be prepared to visit the Water Park and they were apparently in Wisconsin doing research. 1 Quote

Dieseltech20 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Everything I found online says it opens in 2015. I think they need to hurry, lol. Edit: the FB page makes mention of delays being due to a larger than expected amount of "Government Hurdles" to clear. 2 Quote

I think their intention is to open bits and pieces of the property, but it certainly sounded like the whole park would be opening from the old article...oh well, guess they hit some legal snags. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 See Wild Escape in West Virginia. That was their excuse, too. How'd that end? Terp, who likes to ask questions. 5 Quote
BB1 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 The same was said for The Ark Encounter, and to me, it doesn't look like that is coming in 2015..... Quote
Dieseltech20 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Yeah, the FB pics show some bushes being taken out with a Trackhoe. Kind of "Overkill" in my eyes. At least they have a "Future Home of" Billboard in place, lol. The Theme Park itself is said to part of a 640 Acre Complex. Quote

BB1 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 It doesn't? I thought you had faith in that place. I have faith in that it will come into fruition some day. A time has passed since I have even spoken on the subject, and my hopes have been going off to the side. I feel like it could come with the profits (what of) the Zip Line is producing, but on the flip, it just looks like it will be a larger project that would take a bit more time both in funds, and in build. 1 Quote
jcgoble3 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Edit: I have no idea how to change the topic title. Click "Edit" on the first post and then click "Use Full Editor". The resulting form should have a field for topic title. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 And the plan for the park was vaporware? Terp Who Likes To Ask Questions 1 Quote
